Andycph Neutral Newbie December 22, 2007 Share December 22, 2007 I had the same problem. One place you may want to look are the potentiometers on the amp. These get dirty, and can cause intermittent on/off problems. Even the simple gold-plated headphone jack on my desktop PC, when you twist and turn, there is scratchy noise and on/off issues. Take the amp apart, assuming you know how to do so, squirt some contact cleaner into all the pots and connectors, turn the knobs a few times. You should be good to go. Gadgeter 2nd Gear December 24, 2007 Author Share December 24, 2007 the same problem (right side got sound, left nothing) surfaced just now and i hit on the amp. And immediately there was sound on the left again. thanks for the many advise given, at least i know that it is the amp that is giving the problem. Sony 1st Gear December 25, 2007 Share December 25, 2007 what is the make of ur car?? I had also this problem.... but the cause of the problme is quite surprising.. I had this problem when i wind up/down the window (intermittent)... it was not that frequent that I can live with the problem.. also highlight to the AD during the 5K servicing.. but it was not rectify, maybe they dont know how to fix it or the fixing will involve many time and many $$. so after 80/90K... sort of get use to the problem liao... anyway in singapore, we seldom wind up and down window.. so not really of an issue to me at least. Let me try to guess your problem. The power window is hitting on your speaker cable when it wind up/down, thus you experience the sometime have, sometimes don't have issue? Sony 1st Gear December 25, 2007 Share December 25, 2007 Try borrowing an amp to see if it's the amp issue. if you know any installer, they shd be able to lend you one for a day or two to check it out. but your cable long enough? If you post this problem 2 weeks back, I can still lend you my 4 ch amp to try. now it's in my car liao..
Blue2 1st Gear December 26, 2007 Share December 26, 2007 maybe bang a few times on the amp it will be ok liao
Wolfy3769 2nd Gear December 26, 2007 Share December 26, 2007 i dont think it is that simple... normally the window are shut.. so when i wind down... it will "mask" the song abit or totally go silent... sometime when wind down the rear window.. the front speaker go into masking/silent mode. so i think it is not that wire.. also when the window are all up... if i press the wind up button.. it will sometime give the masking/silent problem... by repeating playing the wind up button... sometime it become normal again... Texas5 1st Gear December 26, 2007 Share December 26, 2007 HU: Alpine 9833 Age: 2 years old Am not sure whether the problem lies with the HU, wiring (as suggested by some during MU) or the amp. It happens intermittently. While listening to the CD/Radio. Sometimes, there is no sound from the front right speakers. Sometimes, there is no sound from the front left speakers. Sometimes, there is no sound from both front speakers. What is the cause? What should I do to resolve this? i had the same issue but mine worst, still got bub sound when i off the power suspecting my amp gone case. btw anyone here using Nakamichi CD-300 HU? I cant found any user manual online, possible anyone here can help on how to play with the function key, if can I nid a copy of the manual, hope someone can lend mi for photocopy. thanks
Sony 1st Gear December 26, 2007 Share December 26, 2007 so the root of the problem lies in the winding mechanism? any interferrance on the wiring? have they remove the door mount to check? Anyway, care to share what car is that? BTW, just guessing here as well but your problem seems interesting. cheers
