seriously, if there's a problem, he should send it to a workshop soon for diagnosis.

CNY is one month from now. judging from what you say, it may break down anytime before then.

It can be anything not totally related to putting D with handbrake up...which I never felt safe doing so .

If it's still under warranty then go back to TCM .

From yr replies, u r just one of those able to drive around without knowing much about car.

[hur]. Suggest u do a study on-line and a check on the autogear box.

Does your dad having the habbit to put to N at traffic lights? or

he always leaving the gear at D and stepping on the brake while waiting for the green light?or

he puts to N before the red traffic light and slow down to a stop?

If you still think that Bros here are giving u 'Rubbish' on a new day of the year, then just go straight to workshop for checkup, since you sounded like not appreciating their advises.

can drive, can crack but car felt different in sense of torque,

pickup of the car not like in the past, slower, no power

From the above symptoms you described; the N16 is cracked ..

I believe there will be bro's here that are able to give you some guidance only if you display some humbleness towards other. I hope it's not too difficult .

How long did he leave it in D with the hbrake on? I ever leave it in D for several minutes at a time without any problems.

Cud b what was mentioned that the rear brake shoes r sticking. Try driving & pulling & releasing the handbrake handle several times to release the brake shoes. Do u notice any difference in speed when u pull & release the h brake handle? If not, then most prob the brake shoes r jammed. If u feel the brakes pulling & releasing, then most prob they r OK.

If the problem is very noticeable, better let a good & qualified mechanic take a look asap.

Shouldnt be a problem at all. I'm driving the N16 also for abt 3yrs liao. Whenever there is a jam at the causeway, I'll pull my handbrake n relax my legs while it is in D. Even when I pull up at the Secondary inspection at the custom, I'll pull my handbrake n step out of the car and open the boot for the custom officer.

Tell ur dad to step harder on the accelerator!!! Most N16 drivers fail to do that!!! [laugh]
