Saw an old school Ford Cortina this morning.

It was with a new coat of paint and the internal is fully-refurbished with new leather seats. Even the upholstery looks fantastic. It comes with a unique number plate.

Does it belong to anyone here?

Brings back my childhood memories! [inlove]

The actual car looks better than the quick photo I have taken. I am using a lousy cam Hp.

Neutral Newbie

I'd driven one before. It was my cousin's car, it was way before I cud afford a car of my own.

I can't really remember how it felt, but I know it was solidly built.

My dad one in the 70's- mid 80's. Very solid. My mum used to complaint that it's difficult to park the car cos of the weigh. Prone to water seepage cos of harden rubber seal. [:)]

Registration year of this car was from 1975 to 1979. Most were scrapped by 1989, after their 10th year. This car is almost extinct in Singapore.

To have the privilege to drive one here, you must be at least 45 years old. [:p][;)]

Brought back memories for me too ....

I'm not that old ... but I do have fond memories of my first car, which was this model but in silver. 1976 Ford Escort MkII Ghia. Even though it was plagued with problems, I loved it.

Actually this shouldn't really be under American Talk cos this was a British Ford model [:p] But I remember this model v well cos my uncle had one. Think it was white with a black vinyl roof (real 70s style). Real big car for a 1600cc.

Whats interesting is that the first 1980s Hyundai Stellar was based on this Cortina model cos Hyundai used to build the Cortina under licence.

As a kid I thought the "Escort 1300 Sports" was real cool with the racy stripe at the side, ending with the "1300 Sports" wording at the back....and the round fog lamps at the front grille. [inlove]
