Octopus 3rd Gear February 8, 2008 Share February 8, 2008 Yes, Mazda 2 has a spacious cabin but it doesn't seem to come with a manual version and its FC is not that outstanding. It does come in manual transmission. I've read the review in Torque or Motoring magazine.
Mivec9 1st Gear February 8, 2008 Share February 8, 2008 no need to think...of course sedan. for sportiness, go for hatchback

Does the previous model (the more boxy type) has a manual version also? I think previous version only auto transmission? At least that's what I see from the price list in those car magazine... Have not step into Mazda showroom to checkout the real thing... Edited February 8, 2008 by Octopus
Rollagt 5th Gear February 8, 2008 Share February 8, 2008 Hmm..since family use then sedan will be more suitable bah. My dad used to drive a toyota hatchback and its meant for family use. Since its family use so going to market buy stuff is inevitable so after marketing we go home but the fishy smell fill the whole car coz no blockage or whatever.. Whenever my dad washed the car, the cloth is wet so hang on a rope to dry but the doors are closed with no ventilation..when we are going out for dinner the smell is so terrible that we did not on the air con thru out the whole journey. Fed up he change to a sedan with boot..problem solved and also looks more tidy. If U had expensive stuff like laptop can keep inside boot which also helps to keep out of sight from potential theft since the laptop cant fit into the glovebox. BoneStock 5th Gear February 8, 2008 Share February 8, 2008 planning to get a car for family use (hopefully b4 the month of may despite the increase of erp and all) pref manual transmission... hatchback would be my option.... are u driving a hatchback or a sedan? which would u prefer? Sedan for practicality and Hatch for looks. I personally prefer sedan because of the larger boot space, feel safer for rear passengers too. My wife on the other hand prefers a hatch, shorter and easier to manouvre. One -ve point is that you have to make provisions for the hatch door to open/close. Many MSCPs have those wire-gauze barriers so if you park too close it won't be possible to open the hatch door.... One way is to park head in the american style
Nephewwolve Neutral Newbie February 8, 2008 Share February 8, 2008 Golf GTi Clutchless manual so its still a manual
Sdf4786k Twincharged February 8, 2008 Share February 8, 2008 I used to believe getting a sedan was more of a safety aspect vs hatch back. If u get rear ended, the glass and the space from the hatch to the passenger is just too closed for comfort. Added to that, I was also worried about space, shopping would best be kept at a min, dud to size of the boot. But in reality, the number of times u but stuff to fill bill seems hardly the case. So, hatch does make sense if yr profile is only on occasional buying of big stuff and not lugging golf bags.
