Unfair 3rd Gear March 20, 2009 Share March 20, 2009 Car with immo must add module or spare key inside right? Yeap, for remote start you need either option i went for module option if you go for key option, its the same as sacrificing 1 key to disable immobiliser forever ! Unfair 3rd Gear March 20, 2009 Share March 20, 2009 can ask, wat do u mean by 2 way mode? if 1 model with shock sensor, price higher by $30 ~ 60, compare with 1 juz auto start, is it ok? 2 way means the alarm on your car can alert u by sending signals back to your remote. 2 way communication shock sensor if you need it lor. sounds the alarm when enough vibrations felt. some pple set very sensitive, i rev the car abit the alarm goes off haha If you driving supercar or riding harley, then you sure set off alot of alarms with shock sensors ! (meaning immobiliser's is permanently disabled.) if not the car/engine wun be able to start no matter what. i really like the remote start function though. Vooth 2nd Gear March 24, 2009 Share March 24, 2009 So far quite ok for me, just that range-wise maybe not that fantastic.

Mines a Honda, i used a Crimestopper bypass kit for my SPY alarm. Had to source for it as they had run out of stock. Sacrificing key is an easier option. Or prehaps there is no bypass avail for your make ? Maybe you can go to http://www.zmc.com.sg/ and get contacts to call them to find out if any is available for you. Ad23 Neutral Newbie April 1, 2009 Share April 1, 2009 Bro are you using carscop? If yes, can give some feedback? I'm considering between carscop and URES. Both prices are very similar ...
Vooth 2nd Gear April 1, 2009 Share April 1, 2009 Yup using carscop. Two remotes given, functions also include keyless entry (ie if go near car, doors will unlock but this feature will drain batt more). So far quite ok although like I mentioned, the range was not that great. From 12th storey, I could not activate the alarm.

Another way is to remove the immobiliser chip and plant into the remote (if there's space). Otherwise, sacrifice 1 key = remove the immobiliser chip from 1 of the key and plant it permanently near the keyhole. If the above does not apply, then u have to spend more $$ on an alarm system with immobiliser bypass.

Kianbeng Clutched August 17, 2009 Share August 17, 2009 u sud install boot lifter as well Is there such a device called "Boot lifter"? I've a Toyota Fielder (looks like Honda Airwave type of station wagon). I'm thinking of installing an alarm that comes with boot release. But my regular installer said mine got 2 problems. 1) Boot release is electronically controlled switch. Cannot use "gun" to control unlike the normal turn lock. He might be able to add a relay to electronically release the boot but must R&D a bit. 2) My boot once released, you need to lift it up immediately. It doesn't bounce out (cos no spring). Therefore, even if problem 1 is resolved, I pressed the boot release feature, the boot is released but if I'm not there immediately to lift up the boot, the lock will lock the boot again. So when you mentioned boot lifter, I'm just wondering if you can share if you meant some devices that can resolve my problems? Btw, my boot already comes with 2 hydraulic lifters. But you need to lift it up to half way then it'll go up.

But you need to lift it up to half way then it'll go up. I think the "boot lifter" is just an actuator connected with a hook, when activated the hook will pull the wire cable which releases the boot. I have seen it done before. The actuator is the same as those which lock your car door. The difficult part is to create a module which controls this actuator. Since your boot release is electronically controlled, your installer dun have direct access to it. As for the spring to lift your 2 pneumatic lifters. So far those nicely done by manufacturers are cars like Colt Plus where there's a gear assembly and electric motor at the pivot to auto open and close the boot without touching anything. IMO just forget about the boot release if you can open it from pressing a button at the boot, better dan mine which have to insert key and turn to release. That's why I have to install an actuator, module & hook just to release the boot by remote.
Godfinger Neutral Newbie August 17, 2009 Share August 17, 2009 I have been using Carcop for 4mths exactly. Not too bad aftermore, except 1 issue. Sometimes, when I armed the doors, it locks, Alram chrip but the LCD module display unlock Logo. This is occasional so I didnt bring back to remedy this problem. So maybe we are talking about Quality Consistency which Carcop needs improvement. Also, Carcop does not have Temp monitoring which maybe quite useful in checking Temp in car.
