Got new firmware for PS3, release very recently. Why not try updating the firmware and see if it fix the problem?

Apr 29 launch in US. Most likely in SG mid May, coz now MDA wants to earn $50. And takes them 10 days to review the game, to put a M18 sticker, which the game cover already have the M18 ESRB rating printed. Reinventing the wheel.

Try to hold I/O button for 30-40s, I can't remember exactly, it will reset the system. You can check it the manual. Mine is old 60GB version I paid premium price for getting it first time after out in the market.

PS3 is good for individual gaming, but I prefer my Wii if I am playing with my family or friends.

Yep. Just updated last night. PS3 is now capable of DTS-HD audio. The Playstation Store has changed to a new look.

Hi, I know I should go some game forum but I really dun like to join those forums coz its too messy.

I just bought my PS3 like a week ago. Played the most 10+ hours on seperate days.

I dun switch off the main power jus the on/off button infront and left the red light on indicating off.

 

So jus now was as usual playing my PS3. It automatically shut down for 2 times.

The 1st time it return functioning after few tries of off main power and on.

Now its stucked off.

 

This is wad happened when I try to on it back:

On button > Green Light on for 1 sec > flashing umber light 2X > 0.1sec green > flashing red light.

 

There is nothing on the screen jus the No Signal AV2 thingy.

Any bro know the problem?

 

Try doing a reconfig of the system. Touch and hold I/O for about 10sec. You will hear 2 beeps. If not just go back to Sony.

Need help from Home Theatre gurus. Now that PS3 supports DTS-HD, does that mean to use this feature, I need to have a BD movie that is DTS-HD capable or any DTS movie will work? Do I need a DTS-HD AV amp speaker system with HDMI or will the regular DTS kind of Amp Speaker via Optical work fine? Coz I am looking at a compact HT system for my PS3, and have short-listed 2 models from Pioneer. The HTP-330 and HTP-LX70. Dunno whether to pay $2.1k more for the LX70.

The problem is crazy.

Last nite, jus before I off my light and go to bed. I tried for the last time, thinking what time to bring down today.

Guess wad...the machine started. Anyway I'm keeping my finger cross. I'm going down to the shop I bought from and ask about the problem.

 

Dun know if its really over-heating issues...Firmware everything I updated the moment I got the set. Unless within these 5 days new version come out again...

Anyway I was playing Dynasty Warrior 6 when the set shut down itself....

TO make full use of DTS-HD, you need to pump the audio via HDMI...optical does not have the ability to take analogue audio.
