BBeryy Neutral Newbie October 9, 2009 Share October 9, 2009 Just want to share a bad experience I had with MBM. My friend brought her car to MBM for the 1st service. after servicing, MBM did not screw the oil filter back properly. As a result, all the engine oil leaked out and the engine overheated in about 2 hours after she left the workshop! It was so bad that the engine could not be started at all. she brought back the car, they filled back the oil, changed the oil filter and told her its ok. Till date, the car has lots of problems. Loss of power after that incident and engine oil gets eaten up. She sent back to MBM, they say its like that. I feel this is not being responsible and they are just pushing responsibilities. What do you expect from a PI workshop? So many PIs sharing this one workshop? Non-professional Ah-Beng attitude sucks. Just one word - IRRESPONSIBLE! BBeryy Neutral Newbie October 14, 2009 Share October 14, 2009 OK, to be fair, I am not saying they are LOUSY or bad. I believe ALL workshops ever committed mistakes. BUT how are the problems solved. My friend has given up talking to them already and has paid outside to solve the problems at another workshop opposite MBM, think its called Kian Tong. The problem was the Starter motor keep having the weried sound in the morning. It sounds like you engage your starter when your engine is already started like that. MBM says will not replace cos its not very noticable and have to check. After a few months, she paid a couple of hundreds to replace the Motor. My firned feels that after talking to them a few times, will vomit blood and things are still NOT solved, so must as well spend the $$ and save her from vomiting blood. Just one word - IRRESPONSIBLE! (for their own actions) Would say they are professional & non ah beng, attitude is ok still. But agreed that many PI shares this workshops, many times they were overwhelmed with cars. And maybe due to gaining popularity, their heads swell abit, thus service lvl drop also. I've been sending my PI car to them since 2004, even my 2nd PI car, but stopped last yr when I begin to think I should look elsewhere.

Viceroymenthol 6th Gear October 15, 2009 Share October 15, 2009 (edited) Please get your friend to contact Kelvin of MBM. "Is there anyway to contact the owner to find out more details? Thank you guys for your continuous support. Feel free to call me up @82886188 if there are any problems. Cheers" bro maybe you should point kelvin to this thread and bring the issues our forumers faced to his attention. a workshop getting too big for its own capabilities is a common problem. it happened to BMW owners for one of their workshops too (in sin ming also) Not against workshops getting good business and getting big, but QUALITY and SERVICE must be maintained to previous high standards! Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear October 15, 2009 Share October 15, 2009 Such issues are best settled between the parties first. Kelvin has asked that the affected party to contact him directly. Let them close the issue and then post later. Tks.
Yeobh 4th Gear October 15, 2009 Share October 15, 2009 I understand it's very difficult for independent workshops serving european high end cars to survive unless they are prepare to pay to joint professional forum groups ( the fee can be no less than USD 1,000 per year) to get a lastest service/repair information and to buy OEM speciality tools. Without such membership the mechs abilities and knowledge will go down hill as more and more new cars come on stream.
