Friendstar Supercharged February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 kia most likely won't raise prices. but its C&C that will.
Flipflop 1st Gear February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 it will be difficult to raise prices now due to the current price-sensitive consumer market. furthermore, they can't possibly price the car too close to the magentis.
Yanuk Neutral Newbie February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 price of the car will definitely go up when the economy recovers. I HEARD from speculations that the original launch price was supposed to be 50-55K for the basic version but in view of the current economic situation, the price was lowered to entice buyers and also hopefully with a lower tag, loans will be have a higher chance of being approved. Don't quote me on this, I stress again, SPECULATION from the industry I'm sure many car fanatics will have contacts with senior positions in most distributors to learn more accurate speculations. However, observing how the CV2 was sold previously, I think it can be safe to say that after the first few batches of Forte have sold out, local dealers will raise the prices significantly and depending on market demands, the 2L version might not be available too. So it's good to grab the 2L while it's still available. I expect it to be taken off the shelves like the CV2 2L model. Grab it while its "cheap"
Mersurf Neutral Newbie February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 By the time the economic situation recovers, the Forte will have become an old model, don't think the price will rise, at most, it will remain stable.
Vooth 2nd Gear February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 C & C pricing is never cheap, for any of the marques that they represent. With the Won's depreciation, Komoco did the right thing by really slashing their pricing as compared to C&C...
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 Avante very uncle and uncool to drive around...the 2.0L version selling at $47,999 for bidding...guranteed at $50,999... i'd get the 2.0L version of the forte anytime...1.6L seems too underpowered for me... can the forte seat 3 at the rear with ease??? the legroom and hiproom wise??? Notsogoodman 4th Gear February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 i went this aft, the rear-room space is on par with the Civic. Overall, the car looks and feels really good for the price-range. I was quoted between $47K-$49K for the SX before the $2K pre-launch discount with a rather hight Int Rate of 2.8%. He even told me the OMV likely to be around $15K, sounds pretty incredible. However, the SE atttitude was really bad, and I walked off without a testdrive. Anyone has a good SE to recommend?
Ivtecody Neutral Newbie February 4, 2009 Author Share February 4, 2009 we can complain that its more expensive than an avante hehe kidding!!!! Tat's quite true!!!Haha... By right, shouldn't Kia be cheaper than a Hyundai in the same category of vehicle?Kekekeke... By now, most of us already know tat the Forte is a newer and more feature-packed car den the Avante which in turn justify it to be more expensive than an Avante.... I wonder wat's their OMV for both basic 1.6 models...

Ivtecody Neutral Newbie February 4, 2009 Author Share February 4, 2009 Test drove the 1.6SX Forte this afternoon at the Ubi sales office and all I can say is it is very well worth the $45k for what you get from this car. Play around with the sportronic gear and I find it pretty smooth and responsive . However in the auto mode when you FLOOR the accelerator, the engine can sound abit rough, but than again, how often do we really floor the accelerator in our daily drive. So the overall driving experience I would say is pretty good. Just a word of caution for some of you who might be disappointed, the current stock of Forte does not come with leather seats and the keyless entry start/stop feature . However the other great features found on the car still make this car a great buy at the $45k price range, eg the ESP (ABS, TCS & EBD and Rear Parking Assis System . I went test drive with a friend, his son owns a Lancer EX and he commented that he prefer the Forte to the EX he has driven, both in term of looks and drive. Personally I pretty much agree with my friend, in my course of work I have driven a Lancer EX before and I also find the Forte felt better in term of drive too. Above comments are just my personal opinion and for those who are interested, I think you should go test drive and feel it for yourself. Btw I was served by a very helpful and friendly guy call Ryan and if you happen to be at the Ubi showroom, you might want to seek for his assistance. Good review of the auto transmission model by real life first hand forummers here! Awaiting for more reviews of the manual transmission models especially the 2.0litre SX with 156bhp on tap! With more reviews posted by fellow forummers here, it's becoming like STOMP!(For cars!) and best of all, everyone can read it free without buying any Mags in view of current economic situation... My guess is KIa's slogan-"The Power to Surprise" might suit the Forte well...
Ivtecody Neutral Newbie February 4, 2009 Author Share February 4, 2009 if the Forte has the same plastics as the Lancer EX, then hmmm...Kia has to improve...even the Cerato Variant 2 had soft touch plastics on the doors and dashboard...that said, the design was boring... The Forte's plastic is way much better den CV2's soft-touch plastic on dashboard/doors. I'm no expert in plastics but I find Lancer's EX plastic is hard but hard-wearing and utilitarian in quality. However, Forte's plastic much more refined and provides tat little bit of a classy touch.... Best to feel it for yourself as each one of us might have different expectations depending on wat cars we owned before!
