Supersonic

Yesterday received SMS from DBS online txn of USD15.00 on Mastercard ending xxxx at WWW MUSICWEST ORG, to approve use ... within 3 min.

Today, another one, USD16.84 at WWW PNC COM,

Luckily the 2 factor verification, helped to block these txn.

My card has been compromised, so I asked the bank to block it. It seems like it's very easy to hack cards nowadays.

I wondered if the hackers knows the CVC, besides the card number ?

I think that's the utterly stupid thing about new cards from HSBC.

Instead of embossed numbers on the front (fair, can be read in reverse from the back side), now they print the number on the back, together with validity period and CVC...... All in a single picture/photocopy. It was harder to reverse read the embossed numbers, but now is just super easy.

I need a new card every year. Last time, just 4months, from Oct'22 to Feb'23. A hastle updating Grab/Shopee/Wallet etc. each time.

5th Gear

Received a call from with "suspect spam" number, feeling bored so answer it to get some entertainment.

The guy claims from undie lucy insurance and that I have signed up some trial insurance policy last month, and time to renew else they will continue to charge me, blah blah blah...

dead giveaway : after my first hello, the guy talks in mandarin with jiuhoo accent; want to transfer me to some manager after I said I didn't signed up anything; hang up when I challenged him for more details about the policy.

worry my name & mobile number is in some scammer's list.

Should have told him to continue charge for the policy, and see how he response.

:D
