Cheekg98 1st Gear October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 i think those old and primary educated ones shd be compensated. DBS brand name is likely to be very badly damaged ... probably more than the subprime losses

Pioneer 4th Gear October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 But why when you make an investment and if it fails, you blame the bank? Everyone would know that there isnt any investment that is 100% wont lose. For example, if Sony becomes bankrupt overnite, do you go and blame your broker or bank that you buy from? When times are good, you make money, you got think of sharing with the bank? Now all gone, want bank to share your lost? I only pity the old and uneducated elders that were involved in the incident. Cheekg98 1st Gear October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 cos' they may be cases where there's misinterpretation n mis-selling ...
Redplanet Clutched October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 Yes, you are right. Neutrals will be most disappointed if compensation is made across the board. Equivalent to opening Pandora's box... gone will be responsible and educated investments. Curahee 1st Gear October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 Yes. Those ah pek ah soh ask to put money in this "FIX DEPOSIT" interest higher, confirm will earn, principal will not gone. Isn't that mis selling? How can a mini bond investment become a fix deposit saving account? They all really can white talk to black...
Cheekg98 1st Gear October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 yup ... plus a minibond is not a bond maybe this weekend can go speakers' corner to listen to the speech there to understand more ...

Theobserver 2nd Gear October 31, 2008 Share October 31, 2008 How I wish we can take loan from DBS and later we default, tell the bank there was no misrepresentation, and we need not pay the rest of the loan.
Christan Turbocharged October 31, 2008 Share October 31, 2008 Heard from the news yesterday that DBS has dealt with some of the bank agents. That is good as admitting there is high possibility of mis-selling by these agents. The investors would have a cause to ask for compensation
Bankai87 Neutral Newbie October 31, 2008 Share October 31, 2008 They smoke and u believe? they never name out who the bank agents are, the bank can say anything and everything
Trex101 3rd Gear October 31, 2008 Share October 31, 2008 (edited) But why when you make an investment and if it fails, you blame the bank? When times are good, you make money, you got think of sharing with the bank? Now all gone, want bank to share your lost? I only pity the old and uneducated elders that were involved in the incident. The question now is, did the bank RM fully explain the risk & return to all the potential buyers under MAS guideline or just die die make a sales to meet the bank sales quota? How can it not consider mis-selling when the RM himself doesn't even understand what he is selling? If he don't understand, how can he advice his customers? DBS even have to ask an expert to explain what this "minibond" is after the sh*t hit's the fan. Even the name mini-"bond" itself is misleading as it is not even a bond products. I think if all the victims band together and launch a class action suit, they have a very high chances of winning. That's why they are again advised by "you know how" to complain to the FI individually. Divided and conquer is easier than take on the whole lot together...
