Mikeyeo Clutched November 27, 2008 Share November 27, 2008 I had wanted to change my car 4 tyres which I used for only 15,000km since 1 month ago. Though tyres can be used to over 40,000km, I had been changing my tyres between 15,000km to 20,000km for the last 30 years that I own cars. Whenever I go to my car agent authorized workshop as my car is still under warranty, I have to pass this tyre shop. Though I have been to many tyre shops to look at tyres, I have never been to this one. Last evening, I decided to change the tyres and drove to this shop around 7.00pm. When I reached there, their shop front roller shutters were mid-way down to close for the day and a few men were standing outside the shop. I then asked a man as to whether I could enquire on their tyres and was surprised when he said OK. He then rolled up the shutters to let me see the range of tyres and it was then that he introduced to me that he is the boss of the shop. As he had feedbacks from his customers as to the characteristic of the tyres, I told him of my requirements and we had a lengthy discussion on several that fit my sports rim size. I eventually decided on a branded tyre brand and after he calculated the trade in of my tyres, I was surprised that the quoted price was very reasonable. He even showed me his tyre price lists which tyre shops have After agreeing with the price quoted, he asked his workers to replace the 4 tyres. By the time the installation was completed, it was already 9.30pm. While driving back home, somehow, I don ↡ Advertisement

Louisckp Neutral Newbie November 28, 2008 Share November 28, 2008 i got this rear tyres question, see if anyone can advise me on this. when i'm traveling 60 -80km/h, i got this very loud echoing sound (i duno how to call that but like very noisy tyres type) but ok at abt 100km/h. but handling still ok & alignment good. my friend told me it could be the ball bearing in the rear wheel, anyone encounter this? thanks
Unfair 3rd Gear November 28, 2008 Share November 28, 2008 if it is a 'wong' 'wong' 'wong' sound, suspect wheel bearings need to be replaced go any workshop, the can check for you by jacking the car up and spinning the wheel whilst holding on to the shock absorber. 100km/h cannot hear cause road noise drowns it out ps. no offence to all the Wongs out there

Mikeyeo Clutched November 28, 2008 Author Share November 28, 2008 Hi SILVER_BLADE, He told me that he will return the tyres to the local agent and provide my feedback on the tyres to them. Such customer feedback is very important as the tyre agent will then convey it to the manufacturer.

Mikeyeo Clutched November 28, 2008 Author Share November 28, 2008 (edited) Hi UNFAIR, it's not that I do not wish to put in the tyre shop name. Please note that there is a condition from the Moderator of Mycarforum that mentioning of shop name in the Forum is not allowed. However, if the Moderator allows me to make known the name of the tyre shop to forumers, I will post it in this Forum. Alternatively, you may wish to pm me and I provide you the name.
