boss...never been to the snow village

but it is a 280km side trip as described by the website

instead of taking bus as recommended by the website, i think hiring a driver with a private car would be safer and and more comfortable.  the local driver can also serve a guide and liaison in case of any trouble

Haha, i have changed my mind.

The -30 degree deters me from going to Harbin

Never been to the village, but my impression of Harbin is .. beautiful sights, but tourist places very $$$ minded. Everything also pay and pay, if don't take their offer, they give you face black black.

Yup i saw the photos, the scenery and buildings are beautiful. Tour guide to harbin isn't cheap either & its pretty hard to go around if you dont rent a car.

During winter time, the temp in harbin is super freaking cold, -30 degree is a norm and sometimes temp could fall until -45 deg lo! Actually all those places around northernmost there are super cold during winter.

I went there during -40C. You don't feel much unless the wind is blowing then it gets really chilly and the many vodka bars will welcome you.

Beautiful place but didn't like their attitude toward tourists. Maybe it's the tulan working under extreme weather.

how long was you there? did you follow any tour?
