how cum no comments from our pap spokesman papbest?

They're still trying to come up with a skin suit for Darth Seng so haven't got time to say anything yet!

I'm sure the Shxt..I mean the Sith Lord himself will start his usual nonsense again...saying ppl( peasants) shouldn't be irrational given the current circumstances!

Hell, he might even slip and say..it seems damn irrational to be paid this much in this current climate! :D

MR SENG Han Thong, MP for Yio Chu Kang, was taken to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) on Sunday afternoon for burn wounds after someone hurled a flammable liquid at him.

The Straits Times understands that someone threw the liquid at Mr Seng, 58, while he was at grassroots event at Yio Chu Kang commmunity club.

It is unclear how badly injured Mr Seng is.

Another man, said to be the chairman of a temple, was also hurt and has been brought to SGH.

The suspect, believed to be a man, has been arrested.

Mr Seng had been attacked before in July 2006 when he was punched in the face by an irate former cabby.

That incident took place at around 9pm, during a Meet-the-People session held at a PAP Community Foundation kindergarten at Block 644, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4. According to a report in Shin Min Daily News, Mr Seng was assaulted by a 74-year-old man who was angry with the MP for not helping him to get his revoked taxi licence reinstated.

After voicing his displeasure, the man was said to have punched Mr Seng once, before he was held back.

Its an honest mistake, lets move on.

I think it's very ungentlmanly to attack the MP from behind. At least Chee Soon Juan had the guts to go to GCT and shouted "Where is the money?", and get sued to bankruptcy for that. Dousing any person with kerosene and setting fire from behind is as low as one can get.

Even if the PAP MP sucks big time, it's still wrong to resort to such underhanded (attack from behind), ungentlemanly tactics to cause physical harm.

It's an even game. PAP have used underhanded ways to undermine their political opponents time and again, a lot of it has caused more than just physical harm. Some have been in prison for years, decades, others have been pursued so much that they could not even come back home to Singapore. Yet others have their family members outcasted by the government.

If you push a cat into a corner, you expect it to retaliate. I guess the assailant has ben undergoing tremendous stress and duress, just like much of the population. When Saddem was captured, much of Iraq celebrated the fall of a despot. While the PAP can not be mentioned in the same vein, I can be sure many Singaporeans will be happy if their iron rule is challenged one day.
