Turbonetics 2nd Gear January 21, 2009 Author Share January 21, 2009 I wonder how he is going to get rid of the stolen goods. i wonder too. but some of them said he had already got buyers..etc. i read the paper and a expert said out of the 300 plus pieces he stole,2 of them are rare gems which worth about $500k each. if such rare gems were to be sent for servicing,the person will be nabbed immediately. and such rare gems are not easy to get rid off either. Loot worth $13m THE loot that an ex-employee of luxury watch retailer Cortina was supposed to have made off with is worth more than $13 million in the marketplace. Jerry Ee, 35, who is wanted by police for the Christmas Day heist at Cortina?s Raffles City store, was picky about the watches he allegedly stole. He took 386 time pieces from six designer brands - Audemars Piguet, Girard Perregaux, Panerai, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Rolex - along with 194 accompanying guarantee cards. Their exact worth: $13,225,383. Ee also allegedly stole cash amounting to $27,137 from a store safe. These details emerged in a writ of summons filed by Cortina's lawyers in the High Court last Wednesday which hopes to recover the value of the watches, stolen cash as well as one month of Ee's salary of $2,130. When the store opened for business on Boxing Day, staff discovered that the watches were missing and called the police. In a regulatory filing with the Singapore Exchange (SGX) shortly after the theft, Cortina said that the stolen timepieces carried a net cost of about $7.9m. When Ee did not turn up for work, Cortina sacked him. He is now on Interpol's wanted list as he is believed to have fled the country. In Ee's absence, the courts may order him to be made a bankrupt, garnish his bank account or even order a writ of seizure and sale on his assets.
