Tkseah Turbocharged February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 was looking at some cars and saw one which has not lock on the fuel hatch.. was thinking this shd be an important feature right? no lock means anyone can open and siphon out petrol, or worse drop garbage into the petrol tank.. which car models u guys know are missing this feature? any option to install one? if yes, wat's the damage like? ↡ Advertisement Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

macrosszero Turbocharged February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 The older Honda Jazz has a little bent flap that requires manually lifting the fuel cover. There is no lever to pull from the cabin. It is open when your key is inside the ignition but once you lock your car, the fuel cap is also locked. yup bmw has a latch that will lock the fuel cap when u lock the car. i was not aware of it initially and when i opened the fuel cap at petrol station, i locked the car cos got valuables in it. when pump finish, the attendant tried to force the fuel cap to close. heng the guy never break the latch. knn he used 2 hands to push, including his body weight. dun these people know when to stop and wait for owner to return to ask? Ghostrider 3rd Gear February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 My sister also dunno....she drove my Bimmer out and helpfully she pump in petrol for me...then she thought that my fuel cap has no lock...she waited for me at the carpark...ha ha ha ha.... But once you lock the car, the hatch is also locked. Same for newer Ford, Land Rover, Volvo and Jaguar.
