Lab4games 1st Gear April 15, 2009 Share April 15, 2009 saw a number of times buses not using bus lane during its operating hours. they take the lane next to it, fighting for space with cars. Like this morning, there is this bus along lentor ave towards SLE, who chose to take the middle lane. The bus is still very far from SLE so even if it is not going up SLE, he need not keep to middle lane yet. He will have ample time to change lane later on. Bus can use non-bus lane, but we cars cannot use bus lane... What's the point of drawing bus lane for them when they don't even want to use it? LTA should remove bus lanes on many roads. ↡ Advertisement

Lab4games 1st Gear April 16, 2009 Author Share April 16, 2009 next time if i have a passenger in my car i will ask passenger to take photo! if bus doesn't want to use then don't draw the bus lane. without bus lane, road conditions will be better to drive in. nowadays quite a number of bus uses the expressway, who knows one day they will dedicate 1 lane during peak hr for bus? Hamburger Hypersonic April 16, 2009 Share April 16, 2009 block them then...................
Unfair 3rd Gear April 16, 2009 Share April 16, 2009 Buses sometimes they have to filter out because of obstructions further in front or they have to make a right turn Its more difficult for buses to filter lanes compared to normal vehicles, so sometimes you cannot fault them for changing lanes in advance and no, i am not a bus driver, just a bus blocker lol
Tonyhawk 1st Gear April 16, 2009 Share April 16, 2009 I doubt bus drivers are as bored as to drive in non-bus lanes just to piss people off, especially if the bus lane is clear..... Im sure they have their reasons, either its obstructed ahead or its going to turn, etc. Like like others have said, its not easy to maneuver a bus, particularly when nobody gives way. And we all know why this is so, during peak hours. As much as its easy to point fingers at others, the fingers inevitably point back to oneself. Live and let live. They're just making a living, pick a fight with something more worthwhile. Cheers.
Kb27 Supersonic April 16, 2009 Share April 16, 2009 Don't just blame the bus driver. Blame LTA for bad road design. The buses at Lentor has to keep to the middle lane because the left lane is slip road going into SLE. Here, you have bus lane and left turning lanes crossing each other. Emkay 1st Gear April 16, 2009 Share April 16, 2009 bro, very simple.. next time u encountered this issue with buses again.... Take a photo of the bus including the plate number.. send to STOMP, NEWSPAPER CENTRE and make a complaint... confirm got actions one... sorry can't help laughing when i saw this. make sure you bring enough memory cards for it .. at places like orchard road, north/south bridge, this happen all the time. it seems to me that the buses are treating the bus lane as their bus bay and overtaking lane. and i don't think complaining is going to help .. you will get response like "dun like it? dun drive" . there was once i was driving along orchard road, the bus in the bus lane tried several times trying to cut into my lane and out of the bus lane, i kept my pace just ahead of him and lead him through the whole Orchard road. Although there was no obstruction at all along the bus lane and traffic is fairly light, the bus just refuse to stay in the lane. When near Dhoby Gaut, the unhappy bus driver flashed at me before turning into Selegie road ↡ Advertisement
