The thing is, there are goondu out there willing to shell out 1.55 million for the flat. Maybe hoping to sell off later for 2+ million or 3??

The unit, which is located between the 31st and 33rd floor, is now the most expensive flat in the Kallang/Whampoa area, according to checks by AsiaOne on the HDB's resale flat price records.

What does it mean by the above bold?

there is too much "liquidity" in the market ...

old money (already had pot of gold) + new money (newly minted millionaires) + incoming hot money (foreigner) + future money (higher and longer loans)

1.55m should be the max liao.

It is at city fringe and cheaper than Bukit Merah and Queenstown.

when $1M dollar HDB getting the news ,  everyone says it's exceptional case, isolated case, rare , simi sai

now million dollar HDB is "normal" la ... even $800K to $900K "resale" HDB are considered cheap simply just near MRT

what say you ? with cheap money coming soon ... i would say resale HDB record would probably pushing to $1.8M .... no need to wait 10 years

let's see ...

My block 5rm starts from $800k.

The block already 25 years old.

10 minutes to Kallang MRT and 15 minutes to PIE/KPE.

That unit at $1.5m quite ok la

It just struck me that the area, previously, was quite run-down and rustic - boon keng, kallang, geylang bahru - these are the places with more elderly folk, mom-and-pop stores and rental flats in blocks with long, dark, corridors . But now with new high-rise, premium BTO squeezing into these areas, the whole character is changing. Wonder what the long-time residents think of these young, rich, hipster dwellers dropping into their midst.

Same for places like jln besar, lavender..... the old charm is going soon. The old bukit merah and queenstown gone already.

Even Teban area, so ulu and nearby the FW dorms and hangouts at penjuru - also not safe from new BTO development.

Only pulau ubin is safe for now [laugh]

You clearly have no idea about this area.

This DBSS is NOT redevelopment of existing HDB.

I have been living in this area for 21 years.
Some of new development is good for this place.

The term is from HDB. I think HDB policy is not to state specific floor, but putting it like that is like duh.
