Proton_neutron 1st Gear July 18, 2010 Share July 18, 2010 Hi! I'm a newbie here.... i'm currently driving a 4 yr old Toyota hatchback, and thanks to family expansion, would need to get a full-sized MPV.... i've tried the Wish and Stream, but the 2nd row shoulder-room and hip room is just insufficient to accommodate 3 of my family members across comfortably.... as i'm more comfort biased, i've zoomed in on the Proton Exora. am very interested in this car. can anyone feedback their fuel consumption on this car??? i'll probably keep it stock for at least a year....just to enjoy the pure engineering Lotus has gone extra miles just to engineer the Exora. will go down this weekend for a testdrive, and if all things goes well, will book it too ↡ Advertisement

Proton_neutron 1st Gear July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 thanks to the $36,200 COE, the Exora Auto now costs $79,999- $1k = $78,999.... is it worth buying though??? considering it's a 1.6L full sized 7-seater MPV and they earn $8k.... OMV of the car is around $15k....
Shorty Turbocharged July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 wow! almost 80k! lucky i made up my mind early n bot it. price increase of 20k since feb! but coe difference of 16k.so they earn 4k extra on top of everything else. easy money. worth buying or not is up to u. if u need it...n u can afford it, go ahead. anyway if exora is already 78k, de other mpvs will easily cost 15-20k minimum. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 (edited) just a small correction, latest OMV figures for the car is $14,100.... so Proton Singapore earn about $10k / car rather than $8k.... Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 (edited) if one is able to trade-in for more than breakeven money, you can offset the money earned into the higher car price lor.... Edited July 23, 2010 by Ferraricalifornia
Proton_neutron 1st Gear July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 i've already zoomed in on the Exora.... and should i trade-in my car, hopefully the offer will be good, good enough for me to earn money from the trade-in, then i'll put the cash into the Exora lor.... like an off-set!!! Caaa Clutched July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 i've already zoomed in on the Exora.... and should i trade-in my car, hopefully the offer will be good, good enough for me to earn money from the trade-in, then i'll put the cash into the Exora lor.... like an off-set!!! Was at SPH Carnival 2 weeks ago, Exora then was selling $74,999..... . So now with the latest COE jump, they also increase their price accordingly ? Used car by right should also fetch better value compare to 2 weeks ago Wonder are they still having those high COE rebate promo, one of my friend got refund of $1k plus from COE rebate with this promo sometime ago, so his final price is actually lower than initially bought
Proton_neutron 1st Gear July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 the salesperson i talked to through the phone was shocked with the steep rise of the COE.... but they still keep their profit within $10k levels.... so it still makes it kinda worth to get the car.... but i must drive for at least 5yrs lor to avoid too much losses.... Mustang 1st Gear July 23, 2010 Share July 23, 2010 Yeap,But still i feel 36k its not worth it but again who knows next month will go down to 28k?Just place deposit first and tell them if COE below 30k then you will buy.Items you need to buy centre armrest(Find those that can fit nicely in the cup holder),16 or 17 inch rims,DVD and door visors for a start. Our SG Exora is the middle-line type so not much accessories. But still got ABS/EBD,Bluetooth/wma/reverse sensor.2 airbags ↡ Advertisement
