channel 8 news reported 3 billion... no mention of USD or SGD..... going via Bloomberg

"May 15 (Bloomberg) -- Temasek Holdings Pte sold its 3.8 percent stake in Bank of America Corp. at a loss that may total $4.6 billion, as the Singapore state-owned fund shifts bets from Wall Street to emerging markets." <br>

USD4.6billion = SGD x 1.5 = SGD6.9billion , HC can be disgusted at the losses now....

Buying an 'expensive' HDB at $200k, selling at $700k is a good deal wouldn't you say?

Well, if you die now, all your CPF monies will be given to your immediate family. These monies wun just disappear. If you dun have a chance to see the CPF monies, dun worry, your family will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Try going old Delhi. Their poor are living on make shift tents on the streets, young children begging on the streets. It becomes a vicious cycle. The 'struggling poor and needy people' in Singapore would appear to be living in Heaven when compared to them. Dun over exaggerate your stories about 'struggling to survive on a day to day basis'. Heard of anybody in Singapore who dies of hunger, starvation on a daily basis?

Bro, do u know that in SG it is an offence to beg in the public?

I remember 1 of our star told the reporter that if u go to new york u can see beggers on the streets but u cant find 1 in sg

When shares gamblers get caught in the wrong direction, they usually try to save face and say they are investing for the long term, that the particular company has very good long term prospects etc.

Tama-de-sick have that typical looser kind of strategy. It's fine and good that they made a mistake in strategy, and bought in ML and BoA too early. What they had failed to do, is to cut loss early enough once the investment showed signs of turning sour. Instead they held on to the hope that in 10 - 20 years time, all the losses will eventually turn around, and that the paper loss for now is just that, it's not realised losses. So they procrastinated.

It's a very rookie mistake, and I thought they had professionals running the show?

hahaha... not only tama-de-sick lah..... since when u see our garment got acknowledge policies tat is "good" for the ppl to be a flop???

how many times have u seen tat happening????? seems like a PERFECT world isnt it?

perhaps "failure" is not found in their dicktionary

I think you need to spend some volunteer time with some social workers, then you'll know that they are "poor and needy people" in Singapore.

The reasons that there isn't "anybody in Singapore who dies of hunger, starvation on a daily basis" is because there are charities around that provide food/voucher to those that are needy. Just do some house call to those old and needy that are living in one room government rented flat to see for yourself.

Unless your $200k if fully settle and sell at $700k, then it is a good deal, don't forget there are interested to be paid for the HDB loan.

Ha, even CPF monies goes to my kids next time, they still cannot take it out, how to laugh all the way to the bank
