Nissan Sylphy Feedbacks Please

From what I read, most likely it's the cooling coil sensor or the compressor, but I'm sure most workshop will

just say compressor, that'll cost a bomb to replace. So I'm asking around to see if anyone has encountered

this problem before. I saw a few posting but no mention of the solution and cost.

Recently my Sylphy's air con has issue, the air flow intake will alternate between fresh air intake and recirculation even though I have it set at recirculation. the problem with this of course is that smell/dust from the outside will flow in and temperature will increase due to hot air intake from outside.

See this video.

Anyone had this problem before, what was the issue? And what was the remedy and cost?

My ride is 2.0, the buttons are a bit different, you have the 3 buttons Clean/ Fresh Air Inatke/Recirculation.

Thanks

had that problem. then again, i had a compressor problem. I drive a 5-yr old second hand 2.0 Sylphy. I recently had to change my compressor. voila. i didnt even realised it till i read this post, but the problem has not reoccurred since.

Thanks for the feedback.

So the symptoms were the same? (1) Alternating air flow in take and (2) Blowing cool hot air (3) No cool air for long periods?

How much did you pay for the compressor and whereabout? My Sylphy is 2nd hand , around 5 years as well.

So might well be the compressor.

For this rotating between circulation internal and external, the car is designed like this. Seems like a common european design. Its meant to intro more oxygen into the cabin, which is great in fresh air europe but not here!

Anyway, the aircon mechanic just need to disconnect one wire and circulation will stay permanently in internal circulation mode. My mechanic did for me foc when i was changing the coil recently.

Actually for the Sylphy, it should not switch automatically.

Further more, most of the time, it just stay on fresh air without switching back

Tan Chong confirms it's a compressor issue.

Hi,

I am driving Sylphy since Nov 2006.

Here are the issues I faced :

a. Bubbles on dashboard (replaced by TC)

b. Change of Shock Absorbers (around 150,000km, change to mileage instead of leaking)

c. E Throttle (reduced RPM to 1,000 while driving on expressway, pretty dangerous, replaced at TC around $220)

Current mileage is 180,000 km plus.

Best speed is 150 - 160km/h on NSHW with 2 male adults, 2 small coffee machine and 2 luggages for 3 hours plus drive non-stop to Kuala Lumpur (Full tank from Tuas to Sungei Besi) drivingcar.gif

So far, my only complaint is the soft suspensions, was recommended to change to BC, Tein or G-Force. But was told that the ride will be harsh.

Hmm.. the space is huge, can be a love nest when in need.... hahaha rolleyes.gifinlove.gifgorgeous.gif

Anyway, any feedback on new Nissan Syiphy ? huh.gif

Enjoy yr Nissan Sylphy.

Cheers

TC changed the dashboard for you FOC? I have this problem too.

Hi,

I too encountered this problem with my Sylphy air con.

Went to workshop for check, compressor ok (Noisy tack tack sound), coil ok (coolant lost in one two days after topping up).

So decided to do a air con system flush, top up coolant w lubricant & change cabin air con filter, cost S$ 60.00.

Settled the problem since then. So far so good.

Hope this is useful to you.

Cheers.

Mine was the compressor issue, after the change, everything was ok, the ioniser should switch from Clean to Ion by itself every 15 mins according to some of the comments here.

Hi,

anyone encounter the air flow intake will auto switching between fresh air intake and in cabin recirculation even though I have set at recirculation. During the auto switching the air sometime cold and sometime hot.The auto switching occur during driving and stop at traffic lights. On certain day, it works as normal after i keep pressing the recirculation button for a few time. Some ppl suggest compressor problem but I have changed the compressor and cooling coil in 2013.

Hi

I'm new to this forum, so pls pardon me if I sound ignorant or silly.

I registered for 2014 Sylphy in Mar and will be collecting it on 29 Apr. Currently an 06 Altis owner.

Hope to learn more from the experienced bros in this forum on the Sylphy.

What make you choose Nissan over toyota? The new altis look very sexy.

toyota is probably overpriced by the used car dealer.

They can cos they know someone will buy eventually.

The new Altis is a little too costly for me. So i took a bold step to try the Sylphy. Must say I fell in love once I took the first test drive. I was attracted by the comfort and acceleration was smoother than an Altis.

I gueas Im more of a family man who is looking for a smooth and comfortable ride for my lady and 2 little kids.
