FinalNitro 2nd Gear May 20, 2015 Share May 20, 2015 Those bros with reverse camera one can don't mind help to take a picture of the display when the camera is active? Cause mine like abit blur and the colour abit distorted. Don't know if is like that one or bad installation. ↡ Advertisement
Cicada1810 1st Gear May 20, 2015 Share May 20, 2015 I know what you mean. It is not as sharp as you would see in a dashcam. Colour also not as vivid as a dash cam. But it is not designed to give crisp display. That will be very costly. The default reverse camera is a decent set that gives good and clear enough display to allow u to spot any protruding object, person, etc that you might hit when reversing. In fact once I pass that stage, I shift back to my good old side mirror to adjust myself. Hope that addresses your question. But if the visual is badly distorted, you might want to check if anything is blocking the cam, eg traces of polishes or wax, vapour, etc. It is not crispy HD clear, but good enough to spot a little black sparrow on the road :) Those bros with reverse camera one can don't mind help to take a picture of the display when the camera is active? BobbyTan_74287 4th Gear May 21, 2015 Share May 21, 2015 Just did my first 1000km servicing for my Sylphy and made 3 observation: 1. Job card indicated that Mineral oil is used for 1k, 5k and 10k Quick Service. Why is this so? Why can't Synthetic Oil be used before the 10k mileage? Is it to allow the natural oil to "sink into" the machinery parts first before the additives can be introduced? 2. My fan motor was replaced. Said to be faulty. Of course at no charge. But how could this happen to a 1 month old car? Has this happened to any of you. 3. My new Sylphy air con temperature was cool at 25 degrees at 2 bars. My SA said it's normal and most set to 22 degrees. My '06 Altis was cold at 27 degrees At 1 bar. What's the temperature of your Sylphy? I did my first 1000km on 19 May. There is nothing to be repaired or replaced. I always set my air con to 23 degrees 2 bars. The SA said everything is ok.
B_goh88 1st Gear May 21, 2015 Share May 21, 2015 Hi, I just got my COE and likely collecting my Sylphy late next week or early the following week. Anything should I look out for during the collection? Thanks.
Cicada1810 1st Gear May 21, 2015 Share May 21, 2015 Congrats! I checked for scratches or dents I checked leather seats to ensure its well done. Sylphy's leather is done by this local company in Ubi. My rear seat was a little crumpled. So my SA took a picture and arranged for free tightening of leather at Ubi. Fuel will be near empty. The SA pumped $20 RON 98 for me. I checked to ensure all necessary items are inside - triangle, car jack item, manual, etc I checked the chassis number to ensure this car is indeed mine. If you have also arranged for other accessories, eg car cam, maker sure these accessories are working. Most importantly, ask the SA to intro you to the operations of the car if you are not familiar, eg Intelligent Key. I was a suaku then because i was driving a less than advanced vehicle before this. During collection, boot tray and the 3M-type mat were not there. Then my sales told me its not included. But i got them eventually. Also during sales talk, i was told my car will come with the zero gravity seats like in the Teana. End up of course Sylphy don't have this. But this one I didn't push for compensation even though I have proof it was promised.

Anything should I look out for during the collection? Thanks. Congrats!. When doing your downpayment, ask for everything that you read from this forum. Last time I did not ask and so I did not get anything. During collection, must check the operations of the radio, GPS, reverse camera, front camera etc. The best is ask the SE to show you all the features Sylphy has. What are the "everything that you read from this forum"? Below are what in the sale and purchase agreement and those the SA promise. Any other things more I should ask for? In my sale and purchase agreement the additional items are integrated navigation w/ reverse camera, solar tint, front and rear view camera recorder. The SA told me there is free servicing up to 40,000km. I asked for the 3M mat.

Its wider and fits the body contour better. In short, its simply more shiok! but to pay another 30k+ more... I didn't have the heart or guts to take the Teana. Our seats are definitely not the same as those zero-gravity ones. It does have thicker cushions compared to other makes of comparable prices. Our seats are already one of the best in the 1.5-1.6L category liao, after having tried all korean and jap brands. But of course, some bros may prefer firmer seats. But I'm pretty satisfied with our slyphy seats. Thanks everyone for the advice. What are the "everything that you read from this forum"? The NPMP 2 yr plan cover till 50k when i checked with the service staff when i did my 1k servicing. so total its like 2.5 yrs free servicing. I doubt they will give u 3m brand mats. My SE told me they bought only the standard thickness 3A mats. The cheaper ones la, but reasonable. No bad smell or anything, but just not so thick.. Now, i believe the premium version comes with integrated 7 inch screen, BT, front back, reverse cam, GPS, etc. The only diff from the signature series is the bodykit and fog lamps. B_goh88 1st Gear May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 Thanks. I don't mind the mat is not 3M, so long as it does the job and no rubber smell. You can get the body kit very cheap in TaoBao. 69diaguo can ship for you if you want. I did consider about it but give up the idea, worry about the additional weight and installation. However, I ordered the spoiler, strut bar and some small items. Fixing the spoiler and strut bar are easy. I may not fix the strut bar for the time being. Anyone fix the strut bar on your Sylphy? Does it help? It helps on my Altis, more stable during turning, especially U-turn. Checked in LTA web site both spoiler and strut bar are allowed. I feel that the handling of the car isn't too bad considering that it sits slightly higher than comparable makes (eg altis, elantra.) and the relatively narrow tires (195/6016). I felt that my old civic 1.8L has worse handling (in terms of body rolls during cornering) considering it sits lower and has wider tires (205/55/16). I don't think i will do any modifications to the car to enhance its performance as i'm a pretty slow driver. Edited May 22, 2015 by mrhan1982

I just hate the body rolls as I need to make 2 U-turns every time I return home from my mum's place and that is almost 7 days a week. You are right about the bodykit. I am not doing a lot of modification, just some simple addition like small spoiler, scuff plates, as long as it don't burn a hole in my pocket. Was driving an Avante some time back, and with a strut bar cornering is way much better with minimal roll. How much did your strut bar cost you? B_goh88 1st Gear May 23, 2015 Share May 23, 2015 sorry to pour cold water, strut bar dont give you that advantage with body roll, its a psychological thingy. I do have different feedback. Some said its good, some said it useless just add weight to your car. I do find it good but on different cars. Used to drive a Toyota Collora G9 with a 15" wheel body roll is bad while making U-turn, change to 16" wheel body roll is less. Change to a 2nd hand Altis and its come with a strut bar and 16" wheel, U-turn has less body roll. Maybe its a different car.
