Yeah. Visual check. For some cars their brake pads have a wire that connects to the car's feed back system so that when the brake pads are gone and it's rubbing on the metal the lights for the brake pads to be change will light up. But such systems are usually found on the more premium executive conti cars.

it was a standard feature (brake pad indicator light) on my previouss 1989 Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 QV and 1992 Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 16v, both are definately not premium executive cars back then [;)]

now non premium cars do not will not have it, just have to do visual inspection of the brake pads & brake fluid level liao [sweatdrop]

strange question. wouldn't the agent check for u whenever u svc the car? unless u do a lot of tracking and the pads wear out even before the svc intervals.

Bro, if you look carefully onto the braking system of your front/rear wheel (Look carefully between the disc & caliper .... the centre portion between the 2 is your brake pad [nod] ) you can actually see the thickness left of your brake pad .... [nod]

for Japanese cars, roughly 30k kms for Auto and 40k kms for Manual, this is a very rough guide.

the other way is when the yi sound is constant during the whole day, means touching the indicator already.

You drive up and down genting? That's faster than changing tyres.

My current auto almost 100k and still ok.
