Actually when people find it irritating mean they are aware of it, and with increase awareness mean less accident. I personally find it a good feature, hope in the near future it may become a standard for all vehicles like the ABS. [thumbsup]

Turbocharged

In malaysia, all lorries/goods vehicles will have this blinking red lights installed..i think it's required by their law..

the reasoning is actually very simple, unlike cars, most lorries/container trucks do not have 3rd brake lights, and at night, it's very difficult to differentiate between the tailight 'red' and the brighter braking 'red'..thus the reason for blinking red lights..

as for cars, you have the 3rd brake light liao..install blinking one for fark?

And a fair number of occasions, those lorries/goods vehicles brake lights (one or both) may not be working or look like reverse light too!!! [laugh]

Not good enough... They should come up with a regulation that there should be a flashing sign measuring at least 50cm x 30cm with the words: "Hati" or "Rosak"

ABS may increase the braking distance as it dont lock up the brakes hence improving the handling of the vehicle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-lock_braking_system .

I am not a fan of such blinking lights but I would encourage systems which can actively response to the traffic conditions.

When installing blinking lights, it should blinks only during hard braking and not during stop~go traffic.

Just imagine being behind of a car that blinks all the time at a traffic jam.

I got fed up of getting my car bang from behind twice in Msia, so I installed the blinking module for my 3rd brake light.

I want the car behind me to notice and see that i am braking infront.

When I drove behind a truck fitted with a blinking module once, I was wondering if he was going to stop or not, for about 2 seconds. Then I realized that the lights were actually blinking. LOL.

Because its not common. Look at F1 as an example, all blinking tail lights (esp in wet weather)

If every car manufacturer agree to make blinking tail lamps, then that won't be a problem at all. [laugh]

thats quite true

one cant be sure if it is blinking brake or the bugger is tapping his brake intermitetly, unless of course there is a pernament light as well.

Hi guys.

I've just installed a relay on my third brake light today to make it blink when braking.

Any one seen one of these on the roads yet? I just wanna ask for ur views, whether do u think its distracting or a good warning signal.

Basically its just a controller which makes ur current LED third/center brake light blink when the brakes are pushed. Basically its the similar concept as the one on the new RX-8 .

What do u guys think?

was just behind a msian SUV the other day and was stuck in a jam.at first thought that the driver was being funny by steppin his brake 3 times evrytime he needs to stop his vehicle.after a while, noticed that the blinking was quite frequent and the interval was in sequence then only realised he surely had a relay.in short, its IRITATING [dizzy]

Normally there 3 lights to indicate the stop/brake action- 1 left, 1 right & 3rd stop lamp in the centre. So unless they are all modified to blinking it is quite safe to judge the driver action/intension. [:)]
