What is this CEPAS card thing? Dunno which is the card I have now leh [confused] On the front it sez ez-link, but on the back it has a few symbols like the "SBS symbol", one that sez "High Temp", another one showing the "ERP" sign and the "cepas" sign. So how ah??

Yo, I think thats the new card itself. What about the IU Units? I just recently got my new ride but it comes with the old IU unit...do I have to change mine soon?

come to think of it, that was in 1999. now is 2009. only 10 years and already making 2 system changes. think they want to recoup the money sunk in the changes..

Thanks mate [thumbsup] ! Just to recap on bro Nightfox's question about these new IUs, do we all HAVE TO change to the new ones, or do we have a choice?

No need to change. In fact if you don't have an ezlink card, and your new car comes with the new IU, you don't even have to get one since cashcards can still be used. I would suggest sticking to cashcards too as some carparks (e.g. the one at the Red Dot Museum) require them.

I am one of those queuing away today. Total queue time: 2.5 hrs. Why did I wait till today? Because genius TransitLink didn't bother to check with my uni whether I had graduated already and happily didn't make my card. So first, they made me drive down to school, then tell me, no card. Yesterday, they finally got back to me and said go down to school to collect a form, then go to Transit Link to make. Deadline for concession cards? Today. If not for the fact that I will need the concession card when I intern over the hols, I would have left and paid the $5 for a new card. In the end my parking alone was $2.63, add in fuel and I think exceed the $5 for free exchange already. Oh, and the clincher, no card ready on the spot, I have to go back and queue again to collect the card. Gross inefficiency at its best.

So, don't assume the people are all queuing because they procrastinated. Of all the people in my queue, most were students or elderly trying to kaotim the c--k up exchange for concession cards.

im an nsf who enlisted a little over 6 months ago, using my poly ez-link card (cant buy concession since its now an adult ez-link card therefore its not illegal for me to use it)..today i thought of changing, but it turns out that i cant exchange for the new CEPAS card cos mine is the polytechnic card..

If u ask why i waited till the last minute, simple..the ever efficient HR dept of my unit lost my card..the personnel claimed that he handed it over to Operation Management branch, which was in the building right next to HR building..

My card arrived many months ago..but i had to wait so long for it..now that its "lost" i have to personally call up transitlink office to deactivate my card and i have to go and make a new card myself, and expenses borne by me..

I was hoping that they would resolve it before today, but looks like the ever efficient HRSSC of my unit didnt. Abysmal service. So very tempted to feedback to the department head.

well, i think most drivers like me dont bother to change it earlier cos we dont go bus interchange and MRT often (only when car breakdown)... but i was lucky to change it at Bkt Merah Bus interchange yesterday and spend only 5 mins..

I know why. All along ppl are ill informed thinking must pay for the card. Now, when the notice is repeated and the word "FREE of Charge" is mentioned. Cheapo ppl rush to the stations. :D

Mine was done quite some time ago at the post office. At the time, I didn't know what the clerk behind the desk meant when she said that I'll be needing it come October '09. Now I know [sweatdrop] Phew!!
