Mona-vie 1st Gear December 28, 2010 Share December 28, 2010 2.0 and 2.4 road tax is the same??? Actually, road tax between 2L and 2.4L is quite small. Its just ~$468 difference a year. Thats around $39 more a month.

Yaloryalor 5th Gear December 29, 2010 Share December 29, 2010 The lowest Camry 2.0 went was priced at $72.888 in January last year. I missed that one by one month, as I booked in end Dec. Still got a good deal nonethelss with paying slightly 4k more than that. Heck, today's COE price equals the whole car early last year! Hard to imagine things could have changed so dramatically. I think BM would be going out of business soon, if not would be affected badly. With this kind of price, only top income earners would be buying and they will go for Contis exclusively. Last year BM sold 16,000 cars; this year heard only 6,000 plus.
Yaloryalor 5th Gear December 29, 2010 Share December 29, 2010 Doesn't really matter to me cause i like the design. Only if they made it RWD or 4WD and throw in a 2.5L V6.... Then it will be really great car...... I like Camry compared to markX. Btw, a manual will be even better. If RWD then the current rear leg room would be sacrifice.. Tireburner 3rd Gear December 31, 2010 Share December 31, 2010 Fellow Camrys, what is the lifetime of your wipers? Mine approaching 2 years and they are turning crappy. I think part of the damage was done due to the air quality where I'm working in Pandan area which has shipyards, refineries, all sorts of workshops. My windscreen feels rough and this shorten the lifetime of the wipers. The rear windscreen too, the rain water does not flow down freely and it's blur during heavy rain. Sent for polishing once and it was good. But only for a while. Any idea of how to remove these sticky stuff on the windscreen? Thanks and Happy New YEar to all. Tireburner 3rd Gear April 16, 2011 Share April 16, 2011 My 2 years 3 months Camry stock battery went flat yesterday. From past experience, during cranking could feel the voltage dipped instantaneously before engine fires up = sign of a worn battery. This time no such luck, it just wouldn't crank. Got the BMS to my car park this morning to change the battery. Paid 50% of the usual rates at $76.50. Thanks to them for the response.
Jefkking Clutched April 16, 2011 Share April 16, 2011 (edited) Yes, it's an offence to instal after market HID for your case. Fine was S$ 100 + required for an inspection for each occasion if you was caught for installation of after market HID for your 2,0 camry. Not wise to fit. (After market HID costs you around S$ 800 BUt it's illegal, so what's the point of having 2.0 Camry ? It's little under power due to the body weight vs the 2.4 Camry. Despite 2.4 Camry of higher road tax but the fuel comsumption & power of 2.4 Camry it's far better than 2.0 Camry and it more or less offset the higher road tax bills from the fuel costs of an 2.0 Camry) Edited April 16, 2011 by Jefkking
Tireburner 3rd Gear May 28, 2011 Share May 28, 2011 Just wanna ask if any owners of Camry 2.0 is using or has used Mobile 1 Gold 0W-40? Any noticeable difference in engine sound, FC etc? Would it be worth paying the extra for this premium engine oil? Thanks.

They are good enuff. If you have spare cash and want performance and fuel efficiency, you shud go with 0W20. It is recommended by Toyota. But then 0W20 is damn ex. Am approaching 30k soon and found at Borneo website, their charges for 30k servicing inclusive of engine oil and filter is $275. But I think most workshop would be able to do in the region of $200. So was toying with the idea of using this Mobil 1 Gold from the savings of not going to BM.

My advise is to stay with Borneo for servicing. You have 5 years warranty, don't void it. Believe me as an owner of a Camry, you will need the warranty. I have replaced 1 set of motor for windows, 3 sets of shock absorber, 1 air-con compressor and 1 battery. Borneo is very prompt to replace faulty parts if you serviced with them. ↡ Advertisement
