Mazdaowner Moderator May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 I really hate to say this, but this is more of an excuse then a problem. I've been preparing my own meals for many years now, maid I had as well, Indonesian also, and I still eat pork, she don't kids don't eat what I eat well, like I said, it's an excuse, not a problem. Anyway the choice really is yours, and for you to figure a way round it. Cooking your own meals is never difficult, if that Skunk can do it why can't you? Like I said, it's for you, yourself to go figure out your issues. Cheers! Thanks to the bros here, managed to get the virigin coconut oil from Cold Storage. For the who frequent JB, my wife unformed me this morning that Jusco is selling the same thing for 33rm. And for those who are looking for ketostix, the pharmacy at NUH have stock. Around 17+ for a bottle of 50s. Let's work hard towards our weight loss objective! Have a great weekend ahead everyone.

Mazdaowner Moderator May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 Nice! Although in theory, we can eat unlimited number of eggs, it's better to eat eggs for 1 week, then rest for a week....alternate... because i've read somewhere that over-consumption of eggs on a long-term basis can induce food allergies so that's what i do, eat eggs on alternate weeks. But i do not limit how many i can eat. Usually i like to fry up a large omelette of 5 eggs hehe I've been having 10 eggs every day for so many years now and no allergies whatsoever, well maybe one, boiled eggs break more potent wind, friend eggs, get sick after a while. Besides that, no side effects whatever.

Skunk Clutched May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 good for you if u have no probs. It can induce allergy, doesn't mean it always will...for some people, it simply won't. Eggs are possibly the cheapest source of protein :) but for me, i won't wanna take the chance...allergy very jialat wan leh....i simply alternate week eat eggs... Skunk Clutched May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 if you cooked wings in butter, it wouldn't be lean anymore. ran out of butter early in the morning. Used palm oil....but as it's more fluid, it drained away instead of sticking onto the chicken....anyway, to hell with chicken, how to compete with pork or lamb lol
Gnomish 2nd Gear May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 i eat out almost daily, will the following menu work for some of the days? breakfast : lontong (leave out the gravy) lunch : chicken chop (without fries) dinner : fish soup (no rice)
Skunk Clutched May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 (edited) whether a person is overweight or not, healthy or not, eating out every meal is a very very bad idea. The quality of the ingredients is low (unless u so rich every meal eat high class restaurant lol) and there are all sorts of additives. What's up with cooking? It's a really basic skill. Anyway, lontong is basically rice-cakes. Lots of carbo. Depending on whether your objective is to lose weight, could be ok or not ok. chicken chop is coated with batter, which is basically lots of carbo and dunno-wat. The oil they use may be seed oils, which will harm your health even if u r not seeking to lose weight. fish soup sounds the "healthiest", although we dunno if they put MSG inside....not to mention the fish is likely the cheapest and lousiest fish (i think they usually use Toman fish). When i go out, i cannot find a single food that has no problems. Only by cooking at home, i can make sure it's 100% clean :) Just to add, my wife is not on a low-carb diet, but she has almost 100% home-cooked food everyday, compared with colleagues who eat out every lunch (and possibly breakfast and dinner)....the differences are AMAZING....her colleagues all look tired and sickly (not just look so, it's confirmed by her lol) and my wife is bouncing with energy and vitality....in fact, she just got promoted LOL Edited May 23, 2010 by Skunk

Chickenbackside 1st Gear May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 The amount of money some of you guys spent on eating healthy food.....really respect! Better spend now on good food than hospital bill later for cancer or heart attack or stroke or whatever... I already feel it paying off. I haven't fallen sick even once ever since eating right. Chickenbackside 1st Gear May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 i eat out almost daily, will the following menu work for some of the days? breakfast : lontong (leave out the gravy) lunch : chicken chop (without fries) dinner : fish soup (no rice) Lontong: if gravy is made with coconut milk, it's the only thing you can eat in the dish besides the veges. The rice cakes are pure refined carbs. The seed oil they use to cook it is unhealthy. Chicken chop: can't have a batter and leave out the sauce. The seed oil they use to cook it is unhealthy. Fish soup: don't drink the soup. MSG.
Skunk Clutched May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 10s way too much....check check got high cholesterol or not? Animal fats got high unsaturated fats.Too much could cod blood vessels. latest research has indicated that dietary cholesterol has nothing to do with serum cholesterol, and serum cholesterol is not a good indication of any disease....it's just a number lol Animal fats are saturated fats. Latest studies show that saturated fats have nothing to do with blood vessel damage, in fact it could protect against such problems. The real culprits have been shown to be blood glucose and high insulin.

Mazdaowner Moderator May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 The only allergy I get is getting sick of eggs! I even knock in 10 eggs and drink them down. Of course, make sure they're quite fresh, also you can see this in the eggs consistency.(chewren, don't try this at home! ) No, seriously, I'd drink my eggs raw. But I'll tell you something, it really packs on good quality muscles! No, now I don't do that anymore, my eggs intake is like between 6-8 or 10, depending on what other stuff I eat, and it's spread, 4 morning, 4 night after training. good for you if u have no probs. It can induce allergy, doesn't mean it always will...for some people, it simply won't. Mazdaowner Moderator May 23, 2010 Share May 23, 2010 Chicken thigh got lots of fat also what. Eyh, I give you one recipe, I use a hot air cooker, or you can grill or fry, it's up to you. 1. Tamarind 1/2 tablespoon 2. Meat Curry Powder x 1 tablespoon 3. Stump of ginger (approx. 2", grind and extract juice) 4. Two big onions. 5. 5 stalks fresh chili (more if you like it spicy) 6. Black pepper corn x 1 tablespoon 7. Salt to taste x 1/3 teaspoon. 8. One can Ayam brand coconut cream 9. 200grams butter unsalted. Grind above into a smooth paste. 9. 2kg chicken wings or thigh. Add paste to marinate meat overnight (above 6hrs) Remove, fry or grill to golden brown. As I said, I use a hot air blower over to cook mine. [thumbsup] Warning: Neighbors will knock on door asking what you're cooking due to the smell. Mine did, I cooked chicken thigh just now, and he came for some. BTW oil dripped from the cooking use to fry eggs. YUMMY! Enjoy. ran out of butter early in the morning. Used palm oil....but as it's more fluid, it drained away instead of sticking onto the chicken....anyway, to hell with chicken, how to compete with pork or lamb lol
