Skunk Clutched May 24, 2010 Share May 24, 2010 If I am not wrong, the carb content for beer is only about 5%. This is actually not so bad cos milk products already have higher percentages. Maybe you can drink one beer a wekk .................. Oh! Miss my belgium beer ............. dreaming of Leffe, Chimay, Westmalle, and most of all.... KWAK!!! I may got the number wrong, but what I'm trying to say is, confirm must avoid beer . Look at the table, generally, the higher the alcohol content, the lower the carbs, unless there is added sugar. I'm sticking to my whisky n XO. http://www.weightlossforall.com/carbohydrates-alcohol.htm
Chickenbackside 1st Gear May 24, 2010 Share May 24, 2010 most often than not, ppl tends to overlook e contributions done by u guys. Personally, i find ppl tat arrange music n make intro for a new piece is of vast importance. Esp intro, i tend to pay lots of attention to it Thanks for the appreciation. Most people have no idea what "music arrangement" is. It's nice to know you appreciate the stuff that goes behind producing a piece of music.
Hjteo 1st Gear May 25, 2010 Share May 25, 2010 Triproton, For the book, it's also available from the NLB. Just make a reservation for it and when it's available, they will sms you. (or use the same site to find out if the available ones are in a library convenient to you. I just make a reservation too.) Std Chart Route looks good and starting at 5am is great - don't have to end at 11 plus where it's gonna be hot.

Matoonia 6th Gear May 25, 2010 Share May 25, 2010 U wanna gain bodyfat or u wanna gain muscle mass? I know it's a strange question, but who knows, some ppl might like the chubby look LOL Bodyfat is best gained on a diet of refined carbs...eat lots of rice, drink lots of beer....u will gain alot of bodyfat. A low-carb diet is a homeostatic diet, meaning if u have more bodyfat than your "natural bodyfat setting", u will lose weight, and if u r below it, u might either slowly gain some bodyfat, or the change in diet will readjust your bodyfat setting. This "setting" is not fixed and many variable will influence it. For example, gender, pregnancy/period, illness, weather, all will influence the amount of bodyfat our body deems optimal. If u wanna gain muscle mass, u need to workout, do heavy weights, eat lots of protein and do carb-cycling to increase glycogen stored inside the muscles, puff 'em up LOL. Thks. am trying to gain muscle mass. Have been working out and the only supps I take are whey protein, after workout. Have stuck with the 2-1 carbs to protein ratio in my diet and up from 65kg to 73kg. Lately have cut down on carbs for 2 weeks but find that I have lost 2 kg, not too sure if it's fats or mass though. So I begin piling up the carbs again. That's why I'm asking if paleo is suitable for those who want to gain more (muscle) mass.

Skunk Clutched May 25, 2010 Share May 25, 2010 How about Vodka? very gd. All highly distill liquors qualify as low carb, in excess also guarantee at least we die a slim corpse, not an overweight one lol at least I don't need an XL sized coffin anymore haha. Make sure the mixers are also lowcarb, best drink neat.

So I begin piling up the carbs again. That's why I'm asking if paleo is suitable for those who want to gain more (muscle) mass. The 2 kg you lost are from water. For every 1g of carbs you eat, your body will retain close to 3g of water. Your body does not lose muscle so easily if you are working out and eating enough protein. Muscle is MOSTLY the result of working out. The have been studies done where 2 groups of people were put on an 800 calorie/day diet. Group 1 lifted weights everyday. Group 2 did nothing. After the trial period. Group 1 lost body fat BUT put on muscle. Group 2 lost both body fat and muscle. Can you imagine? 800 calories a day is pathetic. They were literally starving, and yet the people who lifted weights PUT ON muscle. In your case, I'm certain you're not eating 800 calories a day, unless you're anorexic. Plus you're working out. So you can be sure that you did not lose muscle. A lot of body builder types connect body weight with muscle mass, which is totally not true. You sound like you're an ectomorph or what people call a "hard gainer". And usually hard gainers struggle with this dilemma. When you were at 73kg, do you look more defined than when you are at 65kg? Or is the weight mostly from your tummy area? I'm guessing the weight is mostly from body fat. Biochemically, carbs do not build muscle. They make you store body fat. It's not so easy to build 8kg of pure muscle. I've been working out for 1 whole year and have not even put on 8kg of pure muscle although my shoulder, chest, arm and leg measurements have all gone up while my waist measurement has gone down. I've only put on about 5kg of pure muscle despite working out almost daily and making sure my muscles hypertrophy as much as my body can handle. Check out these links: http://blog.adonislifestyle.com/ideal-prop...s-are-the-goal/ http://blog.adonislifestyle.com/how-low-can-you-go/ http://blog.adonislifestyle.com/how-to-gai...in-one-workout/ Whatever the case, the way I see it is this: the number one priority for choosing foods should be HEALTH. Unless you're competing in a body building competition and want to get into a weight category by a certain time and will do anything to get there. In terms of health, carbs do nothing good for your body. The human body has ZERO physiological need for carbs. It can make its own glucose from fat and protein through gluconeogenisis. But what carbs will do is slowly abuse your body through insulin roller coasters, inflammation, allergy...etc. You may be thin now, but after decades of carb abuse, there is a high chance that later down the road, it will catch up with you. One good example is my dad. Thin as a bamboo pole his while life until his mid 50's, then suddenly, BOOM! He became fat, diabetic, had hypertension, blew his thyroid...etc. Went on low carb, and everything went back to normal within 6 months. He's not stick thin anymore, but not obese either and more importantly, he's off all medication. The bottom line is this: 1) The paleo diet does not make you lose muscle. It makes you lose fat. 2) Not working out makes you lose muscle. You lose muscle faster through a high carb diet compared with a paleo diet. 3) Not working out to hypertrophy makes you maintain what you have now but not grow your muscles regardless of your diet as long as you have enough protein. 4) Weight means nothing. Measure your shoulders, arms, chest, waist, legs...etc and keep track of your progress that way. You want to look shredded and not skinny fat and usually, that means a pretty low weight. 5) Carbs damage your body slowly and it may take decades for the abuse to catch up and by then, it may be too late to control it. So, if you're only worried about the paleo diet making you weigh less and don't really care about the health aspect of it, then eat carbs. If you want to be healthy, have all the nutrients in your diet to be helping you build muscle instead of fat, have a low body fat percentage but weigh less, paleo is for you. 1l0v3you Clutched May 25, 2010 Share May 25, 2010 ok guys this sounds stupid but i just got myself a power balance band. lol. i know many people says it's fake but i find that it helps me train harder. it's all in the mind but to me it doesnt matter as long as i get results. i just want to be skinny.. it's like an energy booster. i train much harder wearing it. sprint faster and further without feeling the urge to stop. and even outrun my friend while wearing it. i do squats (proper ones) at a speed that i've never reached before. did 250++ (normally 150 i will start to feel my legs turn jelly) but like not much kick so i did it with some weights for the very first time. 5 kg nia lol. i plan to increase gradually. Chickenbackside 1st Gear May 25, 2010 Share May 25, 2010 (edited) You go girl! Remember for REALLY REALLY FAST fat loss, just eat as little carbs and and sugar as possible. Eat as little meals a day as you can handle, like 1-2 meals a day (so that the majority of the time, your body is burning fat). Don't be afraid to eat the good fats and keep protein moderate. Try it, you will see and experience it. No hunger, plenty of energy, maintain health plus become skinny. Cannot lose! Chickenbackside 1st Gear May 25, 2010 Share May 25, 2010 Yes, fat loss will slow down. But trust me, just maintain the correct way of diet and exercise, it will continue. It's all about constant tweaking. When something stops working, figure out a way to break through, but keep within the context of the approach. We're on the same path sister. Thks for your very detailed reply, CBS. Yes, I'm super ectomorph :( Couple of years ago when I had chickenpox, I lost 8kg in just 1 month! My family and friends always say I eat so much waste of food as nowhere to be seen. I put on weight painfully, with enough food, training and rest also take 3 months +1kg only, while losing weight is at a snap of the finger. My body is a bit like Mark Lee/Tony Leung kind at 65kg, and I definitely will not want to look that them again. While I do not check the measurements of my arms or chest, my waist at 65kg is 30" and at 73kg is 31". So I do think that there are more mass than fat gain. And the mirror do not lie. But I agree that prob is water loss from 73kg to 71kg, though it does frighten me a bit, that's why I reverted back to my normal carb intake. My objective is to look good and fit (yes i know it's vain) , and I reckon my ideal body will be reached when I'm 75-76kg, while maintaining 31" waist. I've seen the improvements to you though, and it's great work. ↡ Advertisement
