Chickenbackside 1st Gear March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 (edited) How about sugar-free sweets and coke light/zero? I consume quite a bit of these.. Just a quick guide(probably already mention in the past 74 pages), which type veges is low carb? Although foods that have carb substitutes probably won't make you fat, they will not do any favours for your health. Not to mention your tastebuds will not be trained to get used to not tasting sugar, which in theong run, might make increase the chances of just giving up totally. I posted this some time back: http://www.drbriffa.com/blog/2010/01/14/ar...fool-the-brain/ Anything dark green and leafy and anything cruciferous (broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts) are good carbs. And you know curry is swimming in oil. Cancer waiting to happen...

Chickenbackside 1st Gear March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 Here's another article by Dr Kurt Harris, which basically summarises why sugar substitutes aren't really harmless: http://www.paleonu.com/panu-weblog/2009/6/...-diet-soda.html
Chickenbackside 1st Gear March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 (edited) another one bites e dust................curry If cooked by yourself, you can make it a really healthy food. But you can trust that people who sell it to you will not have your health as their priority. Here is a low down on why seed oils are not good for you. Damn good article: http://www.paleonu.com/panu-weblog/2009/6/...s-and-oils.html Basically: "...High O-6 PUFA consumption (imbalanced eicosanoid production with immune dsyfunction, inflammation and cancer promotion)..." Friedpiggy 2nd Gear March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 Oh yeah, a month have past. I almost forgot to post my trial results. I lost 2 inch and 3.5 kgs. Now i'm 29inch waist and 58.5kgs...(in the morning before any meal), i notice i gain half an inch after a meal haha. By the mid of 3rd week i stopped exercising but i continued another inch which means exercise isnt really necessary.. Although i attained what i wanted for my waist, i lost alot of meat on the chest, arms & shoulders as well...which is not what i want, dunt look so macho anymore. Btw, I am back to carbs now(not to gain weight of cos), but i realise I need my social life back...
Chickenbackside 1st Gear March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 Wah bro, you're the skinny type! Lucky... I totally understand the social thing. Luckily I managed to get my regular hang out buddies to go low carb. So now, we always look forward to meeting cos we all eat the same way, haha... If you do more weights or upper body exercises like those advocated by CBS & MO, you'd pack on the muscles. Mine is coming back after the initial 'shrinkage'. Perhaps, make your carbo intake just healthy ones from fruits and veg and see how it goes. Should still try to stay away from flour, corn frutose, softdrinks, etc... It should be about health anyway and not just to achieve a waist measurement or pure weight loss only. Anyway good luck!
Topgun Neutral Newbie March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 (edited) OT a bit. Just read in the papers that 1 of the 2 cyclists insured in a hit and run on Sunday night died. May he RIP. His friend's still in hospital. I think some of us here cycle for fitness. Just be very careful out there. Cycling in S'pore is damn dangerous and usually accidents involving a vehicle and bicycle have very serious consequences. When it happens, no who's right or wrong. Almost 100% is the cyclist who suffers Edited March 25, 2010 by Topgun
Skunk Clutched March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 noticed something u guys might wanna try see if it works for u. Yesterday i ate a horrific amount of food again...pig skin and fatty beef soup cooked at home. This morning woke up still full. Didn't feel like having breakfast, but still fried up 2 large salmon steaks in coconut oil and forced myself to eat. Before eating, the acetone in my breath was almost undetectable (i do not use ketostiks, u guys might wanna use them to verify). After stuffing my face with the fatty food, the acetone is like exploding from my breath!
Chickenbackside 1st Gear March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 Is a calorie just a calorie? Are humans just machines and process a sugar calorie the same way as a fat calorie? Most people seem to think so. Those who have tried low carb/high fat will know otherwise. Here's an interesting article on high fructose corn syrup: http://www.drbriffa.com/blog/2010/03/24/st...orie-after-all/ It's absolutely everywhere. In Coke, 100 plus, Ribena, BBQ sauce, tomato ketchup, corn flakes, bran, Milo, fruit juices, flavoured milk, bread, cookies, biscuits, cakes, potato chips, cough syrups, processed dairy (cheeses and creams), ice cream, jams, jellies, salad dressings, meat sauces, canned soups...etc. The list is endless. Study suggests high fructose corn syrup is uniquely fattening, a that a calorie is not a calorie after all Posted on 24 March 2010 Variously on this site I

Welcome to the club. If I eat roast duck, it is AT LEAST 1/2 a duck. If really hungry, 1 whole duck. Must also have some veges to accompany. For me, confirm $20 and above. Expensive to eat outside...
