Octopus 3rd Gear January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 First, congratulations on Avante on getting first. Impressive that a Korean car got first spot, overtaking Toyota. Well done. Second, I'm surprise that Lancer GLX still can squeeze into top 10. Its like the energizer bunny, won't give up.
Chao5 1st Gear January 9, 2010 Author Share January 9, 2010 Mitsubishi GLX able to pull it off into the top 10 because of the low selling price (sub 50k then) and the recent cosmetic upgrade. although this model has been around for some years, still see several newly registered GLX on the roads maybe for the reasons above. Chao5 1st Gear January 9, 2010 Author Share January 9, 2010 top selling cars are usually perceived for their value-for-money. ferrari or the likes is definitely out of the league.
Woonyang Clutched January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 a best-selling list according to price bracket would be more interesting

From the same article, it say "The Avante's pole position was achieved early on because of its unbeatable price, which at one stage, started from just under $40,000 including COE." So can I assume that being cheap, is the reason for the impressive sales?

So can I assume that being cheap, is the reason for the impressive sales? Yes. Being cheap gets the market share of first car owners... or people who can't afford a car wanting to get a car... Joseph22 Turbocharged January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 Best selling cos cheap? Best selling does not mean good car. If not Ferrari will be at the top ... LOL then shouldn't QQ be on the top? its reason is simple, for a family car it is the most value for money bread and butter car. plus its comfortable. Ghostami 2nd Gear January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 Actually this comment is very uncalled for, you should go test drive the few models than come back and comment. With its pricing, it is a better car than some other makes which is of higher pricing. Expensive doesn't mean its really good. It's cheap but not exactly that cheap. Like the other member say, if cheap is the mean concern than picanto and qq will top the list already.
Bonx2 Neutral Newbie January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 Surprisingly .. with Forte on the market already .. Vios is still within the top
Ghostami 2nd Gear January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 Well, sad to say, alot of people use the brand to judge 1st than to actually open their mind to go and observe. I believe surround you there is no lack of poeple like who does this.
Chao5 1st Gear January 9, 2010 Author Share January 9, 2010 sunny and picanto are different category. picanto and sunny were never seen as direct competitors in the car sales market. sunny used to take the no. 1 spot a decade back. but bad f.c and dated design has seen the decline of the sale. a newly registered sunny driven out from the showroom will look like any other weather beaten sunnys on the road
Beehive3783 Turbocharged January 9, 2010 Share January 9, 2010 (edited) it's very surprising to see Cerato Forte get 3rd because it was only launched in Q2 or Q3 2009. if i'm not wrong.. Edited January 9, 2010 by Beehive3783 ↡ Advertisement
