That's just a magazine.

How can any car other than the Mercedes SLS win the 'Car of the Year'?

If that's the future direction of the rest of the Merc line.....I'm afraid BMW cannot keep me.

check out the new CLS bro [laugh]

i do agree with you to a certain extent but i'm not sure if i'm the only one here. I find most audis (except for a few) look bloody hell the same from the front. And that's boring...

Yeah, that and too many of them on our roads these days. [sleeping]

Most of the Audi models are Quattro AWD, only some entry level are FWD like A3 & A4 1.8TFSI, model with 2.0TFSI and above should all come with AWDs.

>90% of Audi sedans and hatchbacks sold in SG by PA are FWDs. Thumbs down for me.

just puzzled that Audi could not beat Merc and BMW in sales figures despite having so many best cars under its disposal...

Like people will always perceive Lexus = Toyota, similarly Audi = Volkswagen.

Two two same same.

If what u said is true, may be they feel that entry level FWDs should be fine for them in Singapore road, but personally i still prefer Quattro AWD even we don't have winter here.

remember not that very long ago lexus is an upstart in the premium segmen. Their marketing ploy was as aggressive as audi now. if not almost.

but lexus is starting to fizzle out and their parent company got a lot of shlt to clear.

I must admit that Audi cars are getting very popular in Singapore, notwithstanding their low OMV and high selling prices! A close friend bought a S5 last year for S$245k (when COE prices were still "within this planet"), but I almost freaked out when he revealed that the OMV for the S5 was like $64k ! We worked out the AD profit margin based on the established formula and realised that it was close to $80k ! No wonder the local Audi AD could splurge on full page adverts in the ST every Saturday and build new service centres!

The popularity of Audi cars have since made them very common on our roads so much so that if you drive an Audi, well...you're just one of the guys. Unlike in the past when Audis were less common, people would look when one passes by. But now, its swarming the roads like NTUC taxis! My friend (who wanted to be "different from the Jones" by buying the S5) is now kicking himself in the butt. And with PIs bringing in Audis too...well...you get the picture. His car is now in sgcarmart waiting for a new owner. Luckily for him, he got it rather cheap by today's standards and would lose little money if he manages to sell his car. And he's mighty confident that somewhere out there, there's a guy with a S5 written on his face who would come along and buy his car! [laugh]

Hmmm..."Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage"

Anyway, Audis are front wheel driven except for the quattro versions. They're more about looks, style, interior & exterior fit & finish rather than outright performance. So IMHO, they're boring!

Actually, not very true. I'm not bashing any car brands just giving my honest opinion.

1.Looks - If you notice those latest models audi's, when their led lights are off, they look very ordinary. Lots of audi on the road recently is cause no other brands had those leds then. So it look very trendy.

2. Style - Example of a4. The previous models & current are almost the same look except now got a new bodykit & led

3. Interior - Is just normal not luxury compared to merc, bmw or lexy. A few friend who sat in bmw & merc would say it gives a luxury interior feeling & lexy got one of the most plush & comfy seats.

4- Ohh, The ergonomic user friendlyness of audi is bad. Try switching radio station, must toggle up down then select, quite dangerous when driving where most cars are press the station u want directly & you get it!

Aircon is another wow, lots of adjustment just to lower or increase temp & loys of adjustment just to adjust fan speed. Again not friendly when moving on the road.

5. Interior built - A little tad filmsy, tried opening & closing the moonroof cover inside & feels flimsy. Front passenger & driver lights also feels very plastic. Of all these mention, don't get these feel in other premium brands.

6. Won't cover too much- It's dsg gearbox seem to hesitate in gear changing.

7. Push start button - It's a joke in a4, must take out & put into the hole & push. A5 & some car makers don't even have to let the keys leave the pocket.

Ok, plus point now.

1. Leds are very well designed & well lay out in a4,a5 & r8. The rest of the models are just put for the sake of puting the leds.

2. It's 2L engine give your money a good run as compared to other similar size engine luxury brands.

3. With leds switch on, it' gives the car presence but when off, it look ordinary looks except r8.

4. Audi turbo engines are tuneable so lots of upside for cars fanatics

Ok ok please don't flame me, just honest opinion & experience.

Not all cars are perfect even for other luxury brands in spore. Since tis topic it's about audi so i just talk about audi
