Bystander50 5th Gear February 26, 2010 Share February 26, 2010 Those battery "testers" plugged to the ciggy adapters. I mod and wired one direct to the battery's terminals, real time condition of the battery from inside the car even when acc/engine is off. ↡ Advertisement

Bystander50 5th Gear February 26, 2010 Share February 26, 2010 How abt those fins in a straight line on the roof? See it quite often on the Lancer. It's called Vortex Generator. There was a paper written by the 2 Japanese Mitsubishi developers and was tested in the wind tunnel. Apparently based on the paper, the height and angle of the "fin" has an effect, but our speeds here are too low to have any effects.

Making passerby puke? Anyway, I dun see it on GTR....so..... Edited February 26, 2010 by Fcw75

Hermitage 1st Gear February 26, 2010 Share February 26, 2010 1) Chingay LED lights all over the place. 2) HID Foglights 3) GT Wing installed even when off-track 4) Stock airbox & exhaust 'cos these restrict performance 5) Electronically limited top speed 6) Interior done up with thick fur dashboards 7) Everything studded with faux diamonds inlcuding rear view mirror & tissue box 8) Little acrylic table, attached to fur-covered dash, so you can enjoy a double scotch on the rocks whilst driving home from work There are other such pointless stuff that people do to 'bling' up their car, but then again, it's their perogative! We can only comment...

macrosszero Turbocharged February 26, 2010 Share February 26, 2010 Gauges are important to monitor car health ya. Hardly can say they're redundant. Sure you can monitor the car's health but only if you can understand what you're reading. For example, do you know what water temp or oil temp is too hot or too cold? In any case, the car comes with enough sensors to monitor water temps, exhaust temps, etc, that it will throw its own dashboard warning lights if things go wrong. So yes, they are redundant. Krado Clutched February 27, 2010 Share February 27, 2010 By pointless, I mean ..... 1 - No improvement to car's performance, functionality or looks 2 - Claims to do something but doesn't 3 - Marginal difference but not worth the investment or effort 4 - Sounds like a good idea on paper but sucks in real life The car device can be factory fitted or aftermarket One really silly one I encountered is an automatic belt tightener in conti cars. It gives the passengers an abrupt jerk everytime they fasten up. (1&4) Voltage stabilizers are imo something cars can live happily with or without (1,2 or 3) Bodykits and spoilers are subjective cases (1 or 3) 1+2+3+4 = "Type-R" accessories. You know, stick-on air vents.. windscreen wiper down-force wing..

Krado Clutched February 27, 2010 Share February 27, 2010 You'll love the Toyotas! But toyota offers sudden acceleration. Not good when you're attacking corners. Might induce under/oversteer. And the steering might break. Oops!
