Will need to few more local reviews to have a more un-biased picture of the new Focus.

You mentioned the Focus comes with 6 airbags? How come when I texted my SE & she said is 4? Is yours the Titanium which comes with 2 more?

my is cheapo trend :)

My SE say 6 airbags leh.

let me check when I collect car, she also say got reverse camera cam, and rain sensor on my trend. ( which is useless to me, but more goodies better than less right ?)

have you dropped by the ford showroom?

i did... i found the cars poorly finished as per the reviewer actually... and that was before i read this forum, i.e. i was not swayed by the review.

i find ford cars getting from bad to worse. in 2002 the modeos were nice and it slowly went downhill. japs were catching up till 2008, then they went downhill (i mean s--t look at the new honda civic, nissan juke, nissan march)... the koreans are catching up

s--t not just the cars... the girls too!

Specs looks good. I will get the Titanium trim model with ecoboost. Anyway, one of the reason I did not get the new ford is I am waiting for the ST model. [:p]

I don't see any ecoboost for titanium spec leh. Both trim the engine specs the same.

Price went up. Buying during this weekend launch will cost $113,888 before discount (Trend Wagon).

My observations (that is not mentioned here already).

- Bonnet release level is on the left passenger side

- The LCD display at the centre console (seen in most Youtube videos) is replaced with a puny led clock

- No arm rest (not even as an option)

- Limited colours choice (Black, Silver, Lunar Sky, Dark Mica Stone available only)

Slightly disappointed with the above. At this price, there are other alternatives.

I have seen one Wagon on the road. One and only new Focus that I've seen. Haha.

I thought the Titanium model will have centre armrest. So technically, that's an option. Haha. But yeah, Trend model no centre armrest.

I cannot tahan the hard, hollow plastics on the doors and lower dashboard. The soft touch "plastics" on the upper dashboard felt like rubber to me.

The front footwell is rather narrow too, and rear seat legroom is close to none with the front seats in my seating position.

Hate the frumpy looks of the 4dr saloon too.

Wonder how Ford will survive man. The previous model best selling variant should be the 4door right?? Haha.

Stiff competition from VW and Hyundai have people sway away from Ford now.

But handling not as sweet as the previous or Mk I, due to new electric steering replacing the hydralic.

No leh ... I was at the public launch today.

Spec says Hydraulic Power Steering.

It comes with dual-clutch tranny ... I just hope it is not as bad and unreliable as VW's DSG!!! [knife]

Here's the spec i've gotten

Yup, that's the spec sheet I got from the Ford showroom today.

HPAS - Hydraulic Power Assisted Steering!

Did not test drive, but with torque vectoring (didn't Audi apply it earlier for one of their models?) and the good ol' control blade system at the rear suspensions, I would think that the Focus Mk3 should handle better than the VW Golf!

IIRC the Focus Mk2 proved that on the skid pans vs the Golf Mk5

So how's the crowd at the launch today??? Does it generate a lot of interest? I'm sure it can't match that from VW's launches but should be respectable given that Focus is one of the anchor model for Ford.

Any special launch discount?

Too bad the recent round of high COE make it more expensive compared to CNY period where i think can get at 100k after discount.

The spec did state quite a number of key details such as no of airbags & weight of the car...

Am rather keen to go down tomorrow... otherwise, will just wait a couple more weeks to check it out when i'm there for my servicing.

I've actually been quite keen on the Focus Estate after reading the online reviews about its good interior (and exterior), as well as handling. However, I've been hesitant after hearing about some of the PowerShift DCT problems (although they seem to be less serious compared to the VW 7-spd DSG ones). Now that you guys have mentioned the other poor points about the 2012 Focus, it looks like I really have to think twice!

Read ford USA user feedback on this focus six speed dual clutch reliability. Did I mention this is the dry clutch, not wet? The vw 7 speed is also dry...

The 1.0 Ecoboost ford focus is not available in automatic version yet.

1.0 Eco boost could qualify for 15k green rebate next year. RM should really bring it in

Neutral Newbie

Goodness!!! Ford Focus 2012 Model. Don't even mention this name it make me phobia..If I would have known that the head lamps would produce massive water droplets when it's hot I wouldn't have bought it. The car gives many many sleepless nights when I see the head lamps with massive and huge water droplets formed. It's so ugly for such a brand new car. I really can't imagine it. And, it takes about 2-3 hour for the droplets to evaporate. When sent to Agent the SA and the management refused to rectify the problem till date. The manager firmly staying put and said that no matter what They are not going to do anything about it. Where is consumer protection laws? That means the manager trying to imply that I have to live with it. I really could not allow this matter rest therefore I referred to CASE. It's really horrible service..I would never buy Ford any more..
