I bought a 2009 Honda city not few months back from J elite car. Later i found out that the odometer had been tampered with from KAH motor. Went back to make noise and got a 2 years warranty from J elite cars. The warranty is bought from the workshop call Optima Werkz situated at 9A Serangoon North Ave 5. Few days ago, my car air con was not blowing cold air. Went to a workshop and diagnose it's the compressor problem. I check the booklet given by Optima Werkz, air con compressor are covered under their warranty. So I went back to them and did another diagnose. They told me it's the cooling coil not working and need to pay $580 and leave the car overnight to repair. I did not do the repair immediately as I wanted to have a 3rd opinion bcos one workshop said compressor and another said cooling coil.

I went in to Malaysia and the workshop diagnose it's indeed the compressor. Change the compressor for under $300, and problem fixed.

What is the point of buying warranty when the workshop Optima Werkz are not honest in diagnosis? I will be con for $580 and time(leaving car overnight) wasted. Where is the integrity of this workshop? The boss name is Jason Ang, and he is the one who attended to me personally. Now I am waiting for an answer from J elite cars who said will confront Optima Werkz.

Just wanted to raise this issue to warn fellow motorists of this dishonest workshop.

My 2nd hand fiat GP odometer was also tampered and my gearbox was down after 1 month of driving.

Now the case will with the police because if you have the intention of changing your ride..it is important to have the black and white

My previous ride, Nissan latio, which I bought from Kar.... Lea...g, had actually gotten into an accident and the left side of the under carriage has badly dented. Back then when I got my ride, the car constantly shift to the left even when I was driving on a flat road.

It was reported to the dealer and referred to their assigned workshop, but nothing was found and the workshop manager keeps denying nothing is wrong..blah blah

Changed my tyre after all the hoo-haa with the dealer, with the thinking that it will help, but to my astonishment, my rear tyre bald off after 6months!

In the end, I went to other workshops and realised that this was an accident car with my left rear axle damaged.

After all these incidents, one really have to have the experience or friends who are working in a workshop to follow you when you have eyed on one of the cars.

As for workshops, most of them will con you

anyone have experience / deal with YAH MOTOR before?

I've been looking around for a jazz for wife and came across this ad which stated mileage of 45000km but zooming into the picture of the speedometer, it shows 74025.

Was looking for a Mercedes benz 1 year ago and went to see one car that they have at woodlands showroom. Then i ask give me a quote for my existing car and they say will give me good price if i commit. Told them to fly kite, even car trade in price they dont commit, i dont have a good feeling and despite quite ok with the merc that they have, i walk away. then few days later they call me to follow up, told them i bought a car from someone else and still got cheek to say aiyah, i could have given you a good price....

So while i dont have bad experience, the signs are telling me to walk away....

what brand of car is this? i'm pretty sure most brands can get spares parts quite readily. esp for jap car im skeptical of dealer say need so many weeks to order a spare.

you need to give us more details for us to evaluate. eg. brand. type of spare part.

Hi all, sorry I have been busy WITH MY NEW RIDE!!

All turned out well for me... Unexpectedly received a call 1 week in advance than the "promised date". Tested the car and all was good. 1 month now, all is still well. Kudos to the dealer who kept their words and also my gratitude to the honest salesman, Richard.

Like I mentioned, if all turns out well I would recommend the shop... It is.............. APEX Trading Pte Ltd. Salesman: Richard.

Please note that what I have said was solely based on my experience. If anything turns out bad for any of you, please don't blame me. [thumbsup]

Do you mean I can still report to police regarding this tampering of odometer? What action will they be taking? I am just happy that so far the car is in good condition except for the breaking down of air con compressor. But I am also happy bcos of the compressor problem I got to discover the dirty acts by this workshop, so to avoid future dealings with them.

you can report but sadly, no one (CASE, MP, police, SVTA) will look into this matter.

What one can do is to report to the small claim tribunal court on this fraud matter (I will be looking into this area after soughting advices from the free legal service by the CC)

Most 2nd hand dealers add ADMIN Fee, loan or no loan.

Always ask, and add it to the final car prices.

Admin fee varies from $200 - $2000, depend on car model, dealer........

Nowadays there r no more admin fee or soccer $.i bought a used mazda 6 this feb at turf city from a low down broker named TONY.when i first looked at e car n he promoting e car to mi,e first thing i replied was:'is there any admin fee?if yes,i walk off now!" then he replied:"no la no la"

So,everyone here who is gonna purchase a used car,pls do not agree to pay any admin fee!they r already earning so much from our purchase n yet still want "admin fee?"ask them go n fly kite ^^

I am back, after my old id which was banned from posting on this forum when i talk about lemon law.... ok ok... have to behave, don't anyhow throw lemon law question to my car forum.

To add to Oakleykoh's reply. Yes, should any defect occur and it can be proof that the defect was there at point of sales. Then you will be able to go back to the dealer. But please bear in mind, you are buying a used car, so don't expect your used car to behave like a new car. I see many post earlier on this forum complainting about dealer selling problematic car. When asked, what year is their car registered? They dare not answer.

lastly, my advice.... never try to mishandle the car and try to claim it against the dealer for any defect cause by yourself. Should the claim turn nasty, you can end up in court with the dealer fighting the case and could end up absorbing more costs. Lemon Law is here to ensure consumer's purchased good is at good working condition. But not to be misuse.

basically, some dealer still charge admin fee, that's because of the up rising cost they have for the interest for their car, rental and etc.

my advice to consumer, if the dealer charge you admin fee which you are not happy with it. You can always don't buy from them.

End of the day... you have the choice. why argue over a admin fee? If you are unwilling to pay... then move on and try buying from others... argue for what, as if there is not other car than that dealer car that you are looking at? :D

Hi fellow forummers, I read this list before I bought a car from David, Rexy Motors in Ubi cause it was listed as reliable and honest. However, I just want to share my experience after getting a car from them. The car abruptly came to a stop when I was driving on the roads 2 months into driving the car. The mechanic said the alternator , starter and radiator all broke them at the same time and I had to spend 1K+ to fix it (outside workshop, not Kah Motors, which wld have cost few thousands) When I called the dealer, he said these are wear and tear items which he's not responsible ( really?) I was also angry at that time and he actually said I have a poor attitude (which he use as a reason to say 'he wld have helped with a bit of the cost if not for my poor attitude) and I was a carrot for going to an 'expensive' workshop. He is an experienced, glib-tongued salesman, whom I admit a greenhorn like me can't outtalk him.

Coincidentally , my workshop mechanic was also getting a car from them the previous week and the boss keeps raising the price by 500 and another 500 after he expressed interest in buying.

I'm sharing my experience with Rexy Motors cause I referred to this forum. Now just want to share my experience and contribute back. U guys make the judgement call.

They just raise the selling price by $1000 and you tot u clever to find a good dealer who doesnt charge admin fee. U guys know why most dealers advert $xx, 800 or $xx, 888? The $800 for u to neg.

So if they "nvr charge admin fee" is to make us feel song only but infact they already factor in into the selling price.

Beware of

KS Automobile

756 Upper Serangoon Road, #02-53, Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre

Singapore 534626

Paid my deposit on 31 Aug 2012, went overseas business trip for one week while they process my loan and insurance, email sent during my trip (no replies).

I'm sure you have executed a Sale & Purchase Agreement with them, no?

They are unlikely to be able to nullify and void the agreement - UNLESS your loan and/or insurance application are rejected/declined.

If you wanna pursue, ... lawyer up. Civil case, no?
