Yaloryalor 5th Gear March 21, 2010 Share March 21, 2010 I have 1 Sharp LCD TV in my bed room. Only recently whenever I watch Channel U for about 15~20 minutes; the signal will be interfered and become blue screen (only Channel U has this problem). However, I verify with another TV, there is good signal on Channel U. If I switch off and on again in 20 min time, the signal is back again. Is it my TV got problem with Channel U frequency? Cos I program another channel to Channel U freq also got this problem. Cannot be signal reception problem rite as other channles no prob at all. Any bro/ expert can advice? ↡ Advertisement
Clemenzo 1st Gear March 21, 2010 Share March 21, 2010 Sounds very similar to my situation.. my 5 years Sharp LCD in my bedroom would give blue screen for channel 8 at times. I tried switching channels when the problem comes and other channels are okay. Usually I adjust the tv signal cable and it gets better sometimes. Almost gave up and thought of getting a new tv. However, the issue seems improved after I get a new SCV cable. Also made sure the cable is not cramped. Not sure why only one channel is affected. So far so good, keep my fingers crossed. You can try testing the tv with another SCV point and also another SCV cable. Change a thing at a time to troubleshoot slowly. Let me know if you find something. Aurora 1st Gear March 21, 2010 Share March 21, 2010 U might need a signal booster... Can get one from SLT....
Ultramega 1st Gear March 21, 2010 Share March 21, 2010 Is your cable point installed by SH or 3rd party contractors? If it's by 3rd party then that could be the problem. They might have used lousy cables and splitters resulting in high losses. Just a guess.
Clemenzo 1st Gear March 22, 2010 Share March 22, 2010 I suppose the problem did not exist and only comes recently? It happened to me. My tv was working fine for years, then got the tuner replaced because we can no longer receive tv signal. Then the occasional no signal problem for a particular channel comes. Yaloryalor 5th Gear March 22, 2010 Author Share March 22, 2010 Thanks Guys! Like Clemenzo mentioned; mine was also working fine for many years but only recently got issue on 1 channel (channel U) only. If need signal booster or my contractor use lousy cable then the problem should surface out few years ago.. Really confuse..

Mdfaz 2nd Gear June 22, 2010 Share June 22, 2010 Sorry to hijack this thread. Wondering if anyone here knows what's wrong with my lcd tv. It's a philips cineos model. Intermittently the screen goes off... Not often but when it happens, i need to switch off and on a couple of times before it's ok again. It's coming to 4 years already and warranty is over. Actually this problem happen even during warranty period but the technician came and fix the problem... Now it's back again.. Anyone knows what's wrong? My CRT same case as you. Maybe the speaker really did get softer over the years or our hearing becoming worse or both. ↡ Advertisement
