Seriously, I feel its much better to bid COE ourselves than to let Dealer bid.

Agreed and hope the new law is we Bid our COEs then go Window-shopping for cars

The AD/PI sure will Kuai Kuai listen to us or else we don't buy

Price sure good good one or else we don't buy

Accessories sure good one or else we don't buy

SE service kilat kilat one or else we don't buy

 

Currently :

AD/PI bid high high to compete for COEs = in the end you are the sucker.

Price not good one, or else you go buy from somewhere else loh...

Accessories you need top-up or else you go buy from somewhere else loh...

SE service you only if you look rich.

I started this thread because I realize that there are many people who have been affected by the Borneo CNY Fiasco....for those who do not know what I am talking about this thread is not for you!

 

Please stop abusing the Borneo Motors SEs....the real idiots behind this mess are those hiding behind them....

I urge you to direct your anger at them instead....

I am directing these questions to Borneo Motor MD, Mr. Koh Chin Hong:

 

1. How many CNY Promotion Orders did Borneo Motors take in? Was it sincere in wanting to fulfill them?

2. Of this number how many had to TOP UP?

3. How many got their cars eventually?

4. Why didn't Borneo bid earlier when COEs were lower? COEs can be kept 6 months...no need to wait till vehicle has arrived.....

 

I urge all who were affected to continue voicing their disatisfaction with Borneo...DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY SCOT FREE? Otherwise next time even the other dealers will follow their example...and buying car becomes like buying lottery....

Every AD/PI has limited Capital - if they receive so many orders for cars after they advertisement is very WELL RECEIVED, Do you think they can have enough $$ to Bid for every car order 2X/mth continuously ? I don't think so lah.

You mean there are people who top up 11k and got a 20k coe? THAT IS CHEATING!

That is not cheating... juz not telling the whole truth... [laugh]

 

They are asking ppl to top-up for "Guaranteed COE"... not "Guaranteed $30K COE"... so long as they can get a COE to register the car, they have fulfilled their promised... you can't sue them for giving you a $20K open cat COE.

Just curious, why din you and those suffer the same fate as you... paid $1k for a guaranteed COE?

I believe it has been mentioned before that at the time when these ppl booked their cars during CNY period, their SE told them that BM has never failed to secure COE for their customers. Frankly... if I'm one of them, I would also have taken the SE advise and save that $1K...

No one knew that the price would shoot up so much. If the buyers knew they would also pay 1k more. Cant blame the SE as i doubt anyone would have forseen such a drastic rise.

No offence, but this has got to be one of the silliest analogy I've ever heard in relation to this incident.

 

Besides the annual TV licence, are you required to obtain another Certification to Entitle you to possess n operate the TV (be it plasma, LCD, LED, etc)?

Thank goodness we dun need to bid for TV licence... [laugh]

if not, ppl like me will not be able to watch TV... [bigcry]

If the quota is based on the numbers deregistered, there is no need to make the COE valid for 6 months. I hope to see LTA require bidders to bid in full. this will surely make everyone think twice before bidding.

 

Better still, make bidders pay for what they bid, even if the strike price is much cheaper.

 

I cannot see why LTA cannot implement this even if this means less money into the Govt coffers. They can always recover from other motor-related means, such as usage charges.

The law must be changed TO Pay as you Bid.

I cannot agree that I bid $10k and some @ss bid $40k and I become successful and need to pay $40k COE when I could hv gotten it with my $10k.

 

We must stop AD/PI from bidding as their fighting/war on trying to get COEs are killing us at our expense.

Went to Leng Kee over the weekend for car shopping. Audi, BMW and Mercedes showroom have quite a few people browsing and doing test drive.

 

Went to BM out of interest. BM has only 1 customer other than myself. Over 10 SEs standing around doing nothing. Nobody was doing test drive. Was a very different scene from the CNY sale. At least until people start accepting the new prices.

I also went to the showroom of another BIG player on sat... there was NO customers in the showroom... all the test drive cars were parked outside

btw, I'm there to collect some doc from the used car dealers...

 

If this were to go on, it's juz matter of time that COE prices will come down after all the backlog were cleared... [rolleyes]

let's give them 3 months since that's what the majority of the contract will have...

 

 

The SE who was attending to me thought I'm looking at VIOS. Told me the first batch of 2010 VIOS has just arrived, blah blah blah....

took some pictures of the place.

guess this batch was supposed to be delivered to CNY customers...

This is the interim period where people have yet to fully accept the fact that gone were the days of cheap COE.

 

months later, reality sets in and the buying start again....

I think the main sore point was that people thought they had six bids or chances towards getting their COEs only to find that BM only gave them 1 chance

Bro, read my previous post. By even offering the 8/11k, they are still making a loss. And the money goes to LTA not them.

 

I copy for u again what my uncle told me.

 

"All coe monies go to LTA not us. You can do a simple calculation price paid. COE - ARF tax - GST = OMV. But you check published OMV of car value on onemotoring, you realise it is higher than the above number.So it means we dont only make profit but also suffered loss. Tough"
