Aeromania 1st Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 Cruise control works really well on KPE. Sometimes when I am driving along KPE, I really wish I have cruise control.
Aeromania 1st Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 Do they still do those in car telephone? I mean those usually seen in Jaguar, Merc, etc...
Leepee 1st Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 1. The idiot climatic air con in my BMW. I always like to set the cold blowing air to my legs. But if my set temperature is six degrees within the outside temperature, the leg area will suddenly change to blowing warm air! Not joke! Lousy bmw system. So to keep the leg area blowing cold air, I have to set the temperature to lowest 18degC, and it makes the entire car so blardy cold! So much for climatic air con! 2. Heated seats in my BMW. Instead of having ventilated seat, it only comes with heated seat. For fark in this hot hot sigapore!
Pisces 2nd Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 climate control is not really necessary for singapore. our climate doesn't range from -20'c to 40'c. Climate control is to maintain the temperature at your desired temperature... But there is another 'hidden' advantage... save FC since the air con does not need to 'overwork' when it's already cooled... Personally, I find this to be a useful function. Pisces 2nd Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 2. Heated seats in my BMW. Instead of having ventilated seat, it only comes with heated seat. For fark in this hot hot sigapore! Did you buy from AD or PI... if you bought from PI, then it's understandable coz the car is probably build for Europe market... but if you bought from AD and it comes with the seat heater... then i must say that the AD is quite stupid to bring in this feature into Singapore... Kiadaw 6th Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 Now that I remember. One other thing not used (at least by me) in Singapore is Front Defrost. Its good for Windscreen internal fogging ( due to outside temperature significantly colder than inside, during rain, not sure why it doesn't happen when it didn't rain) & as its name applied, defrost hard ice sheet (which can be pain in the @ss in a cold morning). Anyway, Climate seat (heated & Air con) are quite uncommon, & only found in high end models. Heated seat are quite normal in car sold in Europe & America as its really easy to do. I personally seen how it worked. Basically, they run a coil, not unlike the one found in kettle, in the chair, thats it! Heated mirror are good for defogging I suppose, so can't say its not useful in Singapore. But its primary function is to defrost sheet ice. Anyway, there is a feature I think we need, but most car do not have. Rear wiper. The monsoon rain in our region is actually quite something, & I think a lot of car makers like those base in Europe do not realize that. I used to though rain is same anywhere else in the world. Man was I wrong. Raindrop in Europe are thin ( at least in U.K), & even their so call "heavy" rain, you can still walk outside without getting totally soaked in 5 minutes. Yuan 6th Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 Hi all, IMHO, cruise control is quite useless in Singapore. When set to 110Km/h on lane 1, sure kena road hogger or be chased by someone who run even faster than 110Km/h . Switched to Lane 2 also vomit blood if set to 90Km/h. Either kena blocked by heavy vehicles or slower moving cars . Also those headlight wipper, hahaha...whatever they are for . Regards, I don't even have cruise control in my car. Yuan 6th Gear April 17, 2010 Share April 17, 2010 Fog lights. Not useful for most of SG roads. Foggies only permissible under certain road conditions and environmental circumstances.
