Happening lah Babi Bryani.

Anyway Ken, last time I'm using whichever oil is relatively cheap and reasonable quality, c-----e, Vx and stuff,

but with the bloody govt controlled COE as high as Genting Highlands, decided to drive my sunny to it's 10 years.

Hence, recently, decided to invest abit into the life of the engine, so using a variety of the more branded oils.

Amsoil, Redline, the mid range types. Then normally top up lube at 7k as qg16 will burn off. So for me, a small

investment $45 bucks 2.5quarts and 0.5quarts for top up.

So far, engine performance is quieter and smoother, so I guess it's a good investment as I"m sure the rings and

seals are better protected than the earlier stuff. Also, less frictional wear and tear even though I'm still using 30 grade.

Overall, happy with the bit more investment.

I finally changed engine oil to VX 5w30 today!

My previous oil was Amsoil 10w30... used til 8k mileage and could feel slight roughness in engine.

Was at PS C4 looking for VX oil last weekend... apparently there isnt any left now.

All C4 has right now are C@rlube and X-Gold.

X-gold isnt that cheap abt $47+ with a small bottle of engine treatment thrown in.

Still remember I got this 5litre VX at $17+ a few months ago.

Do share if anyone spot any place selling VX engine oil.

Cheers

Orac

Any recommendation for a 0W30 engine oil?

About the only one that I came across that fits the profile required is Bizol Long Life (AECA A3/B4, PSA B712296). But that oil cost more than $100 for 4L.

You might want to consider MolyEP instead, add a strong dose of "antimony" anti-wear additives into the cheapo 5w30, boost up it's anti-wear function.
