Neutral Newbie

After 3 years of having these lights, I finally could not take it anymore. When I bought this from the previous owner, it had many scratches and stains. I used to wash with glass cleaner, car soap. But still cannot remove. At the end, just left it. <_<

Then recently, googled and found that plastX could remove. Tried to find, but not readily available. Hence, since I had ScratchX, I gave it a try. :D

It is not perfect, but 90% better. A lot of elbow grease needed. [;)]

Supersonic

I got PlastX from Autobacs.

ScratchX can be used, but I think you got to be careful on how much strength to use.

The headlight covers are made of plastic. Any harsher compound may just scratch it and make it worse looking.

Home fix is selling this headlight cleaner for $38 IIRC.

Anyone tried that?

They also sell this headlight protector for $60. Suppose to protect headlights from turning yellow.

As a added bonus, it comes with 3 tint color. Blue, Smoke and Pink.

Quite tempted to try the protecter just for cosmetic purposes.

Anyone tried that out?

Another thing that you could try is speaking to your local windscreen repair man and seeing if they can give you any pearls of wisdom (or a sploosh of some weird and wonderful chemical that could help with the scratch removal) [gorgeous]

OOT abit.

i noticed that most conti cars' headlights tend to turn "blur" after like 3yrs old.

but for Jap/Kor cars' headlights, after 5yrs still as clear as crystal.

how come ah?

I used Autosol (Brasso also can). and also ordinary scratch removing car polish. all works great. smooth, shiny and looking brand new...

Well as long as its not the gel ones. The normal ones will do. Whitening technically should be better since they're a lil more abrasive, but i havent tried them.

I noticed that my headlight has condensation inside. All fogged up. My brother told that it's common to happen on Honda Accord JDM. May I know if anyone knows how to fix this ?

Appreciate your advice in advance. Thank you. :D

Some say you can use tooth paste and rub it on the affected area while others use expensive headlight treatment/cleaner solutions. Tell us if it works.

Surprisingly, it's works !! :o I am speechless !! 90% of the condensation was cleared right after one single application. Did not apply more due to the recent rainy season. Not very sure, if the condensation will comes back. Will monitor further and post..

BTW, toothpaste used - Darlie, original :D
