You forgot to spend 30 minutes to visualize (in your mind) the route you intend to drive, how you will tackle each corner by taking the perfect line, and how you will defeat larger CC cars with superior driving :D

I think it makes a diff to the batt life. in one of my previous rides i used to switch off the AC and radio b4 i turn off the engine and the batt lasted 3+ yrs. subsequently when i changed rides, i din bother and left the AC and radio on when i started the engine. after all the car was 'smart' and both the AC and radio will not start immed when the engine is cranked. however, the batt all lasted <1.5yrs. for my current ride, the batt lasted abt 2.5 yrs but i think it is partly also bec it is located at the boot which is much cooler than the engine bay.

I think you're right. Switching off aircon or just the blower would stop the compressor from turning during cranking. However radio and lights are normally disconnected during cranking, so it I think it's not necessary to switch it off.

If you have a manual gear, clutch in as well during cranking.

Try these. Just very short checklist, not like those champion checkers. By the time I buy breakfast and return, they are still checking... :D:D

1) Education: Let her experience the trouble she caused. Like help to push start car assist in battery replacement. If she do it again, It wont help even if you change to 200AH truck battery.

2) Increase capacity = Buy time:

Change to higher capacity battery.

3) Reduce consumption = buy time also

Change room light to LED.

4) Remember to switch off the room light before going overseas. If still worry, tape it at off position.

5) Put a big tag on car key with reminders.

6) last-- on your next car- buy one that will shut down all power when you lock door.

Hope at least one of this will help.

For what, I was happily driving along Upp Thomson road once when a black GTR with blackened tail lamps came up beside me. After the lights turned green.. I was like struggling to keep up from 0-60 and the GTR didn't sound as if the driver was trying hard! :(

At the end of the day... alamark, kenna makan by GTR [:p]

Hello!

Just some doubts that you guys can help:

When you start your car EVERYTIME, is it better to switch off aircon and radio first? Or just aircon enough?

Or it is perfectly alright just leave them on when switiching off and starting up your car?

Read somewhere that it affects the car battery or alternator or something like that..

Cheers

Not only these. Wait for engine check sign to light out b4 u start cranking.

Eh Sorry if this is a little off topic.

But I found out that when I start my engine and drive a little. My car will leak water underneath between the drive and passenger seat. It will form a pool of water on the floor.

Is that normal? Btw mine is a new car just collected like 2 weeks ago. When I collected at the warehouse agent told me that brand new car is normal. Is that true ? I think It is water because I touched it , it seems diluted and it evaporates very quickly.

yours a conti? fiat?

I was told it is the air con condensation, most conti cars like that, my optra also has condensation but it does not leak, just trap inside the aircon filter compartment.

try again without the aircon and see if it happens, than check with your agent again.

Not necessary. Most cars ECU will only turn on aircon compressor few seconds after the engine is started.

In my 25 years of driving, I have never turned off aircon or radio before starting the car...even for the old carburetted engines. Even if this has negative effects on battery it is minimal...so just enjoy driving and not worry too much. [:)]

ya man.. agree..

in fact i like to leave the aircon on so that on a hot day, i can stick my arm in, crank up, and leave the aircon to do the work.

Turn your key... Dont bother thinking. Change battery every 2 years, regardless of how you start. Otherwise prepare to sit at carpark wait for help.
