If their engine match their look, I am sure it will be best buy and most wanted

Unless the badge is also change. Many local driver still cannot accept Korean car.

There are many here in MCF already.

I wonder why the agent never bring in the 2.0 T-GDI version [thumbsup] .?,Less road tax & super powerful, bring the 2.4 engine,'drinks' petrol, but goes nowhere... [thumbsdown]

Perhaps it might be too pricey (based on pricing obtained from thecarconnection.com) and thus not competitive.

Not sure if insurance will also go up because of turbo engine.

Sometime you may look at the support from the authorities.

Can I get their service packages from Kia website?

KM, BM and Hyundai service packages quite transparent.

I couldn't find the information on their website so I wrote to them. They did not direct me to the website but attached the information.

I've connected my music playlist on my samsung note 3 thru Bluetooth on K5... It is such a breeze! However, yet to try connecting iPad with the free cable they gave us. It is a wonderful experience to listen and sing in the car with the infinity sound system.

Korean car and samsung makes an easy match!

Clarity making call thru the car Bluetooth connection is good too...as compared to using Jabra Bluetooth enabled speaker phone with much interference. We have tried making & answering calls in several locations.. So far ok other than the usual poor signal areas. However, won't be too sure if connected to other than korean made mobile phones, will there be any drastic differences?

Great! Just chng hp from iphone to samsung. I chk sg carmart bluetooth and rear camera not listed as K5 specs I guess not updated. Didn't chk at showroom though.

Gotten my first scratch mark after 2 moths and 1 week. Accidentally scratched my rim last Friday while exiting from a carpark. The exit is narrow but I have parked there for 4 years. Turned a bit too early and my rear wheel mounted the side kurb.

I know it's minor but does anyone knows if it is possible to touch up as I find the mark an eye-sore? Arrigato.

You can consider putting rim protectors too. Now whenever I strike kerb, the rim protectors will absorb the impact. It also saved me from spending additional money to fix the kerb rash as the rim protector covers the damages too.

Hi All,

Just test drove the 2L K5 recently, and was quite happy with the performance and features, space of the K5.

The price difference between the 2L and 2.4L are about SGD12K, the 2L does not has the seat cooler and infinity sound system, which I do not need. Power wise I am quite happy with the 2L.

any members also considering the 2L? or am I missing something on the 2.4L?

Thanks!

Cheers

Finally, Kia brought in the 2L version of K5. There was still no display unit when I went for servicing in mid June 2014. Seems like the price difference between the 2 models has widened. It was only $5k difference when I bought in April 2014. However, 2L was not available for test drive and given the slight price difference, it only makes sense to go with 2.4L back then.

Don't think you miss out much. 2L uses newer Nu 2.0 MPI engine (came out in 2012 I think) whereas 2.4L uses Theta II engine (available since 2011).

Ventilaed seats, Infinity speakers (hence no bluetooth interface), panaromic roof, reverse camera and blind spot detection with lane change assist are the added features in 2.4L. The rim may be different and I am not sure if 2L comes with D-shaped steering wheel.

think the reverse cam n bluetooth interface cost 2k and I believed, can neg as freebies.

only ventilated seats, roof and blind spot assist dun have in the 2L model.. test drove it, really not bad, only the FC abit worrying.

Based on my guesstimate, I think 2L should be able to hit around 10km/litre. Getting 8 to 8.5km/l for 2.L.

Yourboss,

you are spot on about the differences btw the 2L and 2.4L. the SE didn't really bother to explain the differences when I asked. even the test drive was done half heartedly, i just checked google map, the total test drive distance was just under 6km ... haha

IIRC, the 2L does not come with D-shaped steering wheel.

rim size is 18inch
