Not true... I always leave the card in the IU. No issues... all my cars like that... the last one was 9 years old when I traded it in... and I park in direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day... note that I have Vkool solar film installed.

Buy before the rules kick in... you've got to be prepared for little niggles and electronic failures... minor ones mainly...

The Citroën saleslady got in touch with me and shared that this weekend got promo for 5 year free servicing.

 

Is that considered a good deal?

 

Does the wear and tear issue happen often in the first few years?

During my 20k servicing, the SA told me the front brake pads need to be replace and I was thinking WTF! And CnC quoted me $290. 

 

My previous ride (Honda RSZ) only need to change brake pads duringy 60k servicing.

 

In short, be prepared for more wear and tear cost as the Picasso is using timing belt and the parts tend to wear faster than Japanese car.

Take a look at the brake pads yourself and decide... 20K is way too early to change brake pads... especially if you're having disc brakes on all four corners... you're better off replacing it outside... check your servicing guide in the owner's manual as well... it should indicate the average replacement schedule...

I just pasted the T&C of the warranty in the link above. Can you guarantee your brake pads are genuine parts? By all means go ahead and not be paranoid. To each his own.

Looking to get a 7 or 8 year old Picasso as my Lancer is scrapping soon. Any bros who are driving a 7 to 8 year old Picasso, any things to take note as many warned me against it due to the maintenance. Is it a myth or a fact?

Hi, am in a similar situation. like the skyroof and the windscreen design alot. but am worried about the reliability of the car. 

 

i am fine with small little issues, just dont want BIG problems to happen, like gearbox & engine failure, ECU failure etc.

I changed mine at 26k for $220 excludes GST. At 35k, C&C advised me to change at the next servicing. Since I am going to KL, I changed last week for $200 and workshop told me the spare parts is expensive.

 

So you tell me if it is expensive. Also, mine timing chain and not belt. Lastly, French car is a hate or love relationship. Some driving their third Citroen while I will not do twice for whatever reasons.

 

I feel driving a Chervelot, Opel Ford is better than Peugeot/Citroen/Renault as there is a bigger community out there to share technical knowhow etc. By far, VW has probably one of the most active forum on internet and their cars offer great flexibility in parts replacement and add on.
