All this flush just another way ty get u to spend yr money.

I just go to my regular ac shop every couple of yrs or when anything wrong n get it checked.

So far never did those flush or wash n my car 7 yrs old already.

I use markcool in woodlands n only let e foreman ah huat do my ac.

what if ah huat is busy doing other cars? u wait for him?

If aircon no problem, dont go and flush it. Just do some normal maintenance like chemical wash will do. Sometime it will leak after u flush it and more prblem coming out.

Few times, aircon workshop told me if ac cold and working then don't touch it.

Once you do something to it, alot of isses will come..

Spoil then rectify the problem.

I did ac flush at autobxx and coolant flush, turned out ac totally not cold and they cannot rectify the issue..

If he in e middle of doing another car i tell him whats e problem. Sometimes he just come over n chk or he ask me to wait awhile.

Chk he can do very fast. Then he diagnose n tell me whats wrong n how long to repair n how much.

If i decide to do immediately he wil try to do immediately if a minor job. If it wil take some time either i come back later or just wait fr him to finish.

If big job he might send me home n come n pick me when job complete...but i stay only 15 mins away.

Exactly. When no problem why waste time n money to do this n that.

Just drive e car as normal. Dun waste money doing silly stuff n end up wasting more money to rectify e problems it cause later.

I just do regular service n maintenance as per my handbook. Only when something spoil then i get it done.

Other stuff like brake pads i chk when i do tire balancing n rotation so can see how much brake pads r left.

When ws raise car up on carlift i go below to chk fr leaks n worn n damaged hoses n boots or bushings. Also chk exhaust fr rust n loose joints.

frankly, chemical wash do more harm than flushing.

Can be avoided, if u r attentive, in the event of the gas run out, or aircon vent doesnt blow-out cool-air. Switch off the aircon system. Do not keep the compressor running without sufficient gas in ur system.....it'll overheat the system...may cos the compressor oil-seal/gasket or the clutch assembly to kaput.

i thought most car got a sensor to detect gas lau hong ,hence cut off the compressor to make sure they r not running..

Bro,

For the aircon, wait till spoil then do. cause if it cost 200 to flush, after about 2 to 3 flush, it is as good as the cost of replacing the compressor. and compressor seldom spoil. it is usually the coil inside the car that spoil, which should cost you about 3-400.

For rear tyre, if you can afford change all 4 tyre every year or every month. just kidding. But really if cost is not the issue change all four. If not, change 2 and put the 2 new tyre at the rear because you want to have better grip at the rear. If front grip is poor, you will lose some braking distance, not extremely significant, drive safely and keep a safe following distance will be good. but if the rear grip is poor, you can potentially loose control of the rear and start spinning around uncontrolled, end up wrapping a tree in worst case scenario or may even hit a few car. So my advise is keep better tyre for the rear regardless of front wheel drive, rear wheel drive or awd.

I was quoted $700+ for coil change and takes 2 days as it involve dismantling the front panels, is this correct ? Tks

7 yr old Peugeot 307cc - aircon only blowing hot air so I called the few recommended WS to quote for compressor change and coil change to have a sense what cost isinvolved before visiting any of them to diagnose.

My car also have this weird symptom that the centre outlets are weaker than the 2 side outlets. So don't know if it is choked,.... Just last Friday, the driver side outlet started to blow out pieces of sponge.

My 5 yr old Axio has a slight air-con prob.. Whenever car stationary & engine still running (e.g. long wait for traffic light / or traffic jam), the ac will not blow cold air... Need to step on accelerator to get cold air...

I went to Mark Cool yesterday a.m. to consult ah huat. When i arrived, he asked me what problem? i say nothing la, jus wanna do normal ac servicing. He gave me a wierd look n said "huh? Ac servicing!? nowadays, new cars ac don't need servicing one. Only need change ac filter n check gas". I was surprised at what he said. Anyway, I went ahead to tell him my car's ac problem. After a fast diagnostic, he say ac compressor weak - only solution is change compressor. Quoted me $750. I replied " nvm, I will drive till the compressor kaput!" And I left for home...

On the subject of aircon, can anyone help tell me what is my aircon pb?

Everytime i switch on the aircon, there will be a very sweet, pungent, strong smell coming from the vents, almost suffocating. Will be like that for about 30 secs then the smell will disappear and all will be normal.

The smell is like someone dumped a whole bottle of glade bottle down the aircon.

Aircon temp is normal.
