Time needed to reach Genting

just came back from Genting today.

 

on the way there, encountered road block on nshw. malaysian tp said i was doing 130+, so the usual story la, summon or 50rm? ( He asked for the 50rm himself nnb) so i gave the 50rm. i thought cannot give kopi money alr?

 

on the way back, the nshw was slow.... pagoh R&R was packed with lots of people. (think theres some muslim event going on in KL this weekend, a lot of ppl seem to make their way there on friday and return today). Quite a number of accidents on the NSHW causing massive jams.

 

anyway, about genting,

 

1) first world hotel carpark is generally safe, just take the usual precautions

2) try not to leave genting at 12pm, cos usually most ppl will check out at this time.

3) for those who have the member cards, can have your meal inside the casino, at this new orleans bbq place. one of the better food you can find up there

4) Mushroom garden have good and reasonable priced food. no harm going there and eat.

I am thinking if I should get a steering wheel lock as a deterrent. What do you guys say?

Not really needed actually. just take all you valuables in the car with you to the hotel. Park nose in can alr.

i also din buy cuz i tink there is a steering lock if u have no keys.. turn the steering to the the extreme and switch off the engine.

Really up to you. I spent most of my time in MY. I still take precaution. I still apply the basic 4 Points steering wheel locks, brake and gear box lock. I also installed 2 alarm systems in the car plus a tracking device. Always park head in where possible and turn steering to one side when parked.

bro ur tracking device is when someone breaks in, it calls ur ph or sms? Does it work with keyless entry and start stop cars? I asked ard, seems cant do for my car .. only have immobiliser nia

Beside the immobilizer, both my alarm and tracking systems have shock and door sensors. So when the break-in happened or door is opened abnormally, the alarm will sound and the remote controller will alert you within 2km. While the tracking device provides SMS alert via the phone.

So there are 2 ways that you will be alerted of a break-in. Nothing to do with keyless entry or stop/start button.

Ok, what i meant was that i asked around and no one could do up what you have done as my car is keyless and stop start ...

 

Is urs keyless and stip start? where u did ur alarms , tracking device and the shock and door sensors? and whjere ah ...

I don't quite get you there. The shock and door sensors have nothing to do with keyless start. You can search for adverts here in MCF.

haha paiseh, i was explaining that i cant do up any alarms or what not in my car as it is keyless start.. Asked ZMC before was tld cant be done for keyless start.

But the 1 day one have got restrictions on some rides. I was wondering which is a better deal and will 1 day be enough for my kids to enjoy all the rides. Sorry, last time I was in genting was more than 20 years ago. So very clueless about the place.

I am not sure about the theme park cos the 1st/last time I went was 8yrs ago. Now too old for these.

However, I would like to suggest allocate 2 days for your kids in case of bad weather [rains, heavy fogs]. Furthermore, since your last visit was 20yrs ago, and now drive long distance there, why not enjoy an additional day stay.

U can just get the indoor day pass if yr kids r too young. If u go during off peak season, yr kids should be able to enjoy all the rides within one day. Some rides operate till 11pm or 12am from 9am if i remember correctly. Some Outdoor theme park's rides got height limit and depend on weather also. Here is the link for the ticket price.

I notice genting already up their adult indoor ticket price to rm40 from rm26.
