Types of Hand Held speed cameras sighted..pls share

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i may have kena "photoshot" by a hand-held speed camera used by a plain clothes guy in white standing on the overhead bridge.

Was along queensway near the macdonald there, i think speed limit was 70 but was travelling at 80+, 90, rushing for appt

1st time i saw a hand held camera without tripod.

has anyone seen such a speed camera b4 and kena also? pls share.

So far i've only seen mobile speed cameras that are quite large mounted on tripod.

this one was only as big as a hand held video cam.

I've seen the tripod ones, never saw handheld ones...

Does anyone know if they are high resolution enough to identify the driver? Seems challenging given the speed of vehicle, glare from windscreen, face in the shade, etc...

I think u never kanna saman before.. they only need the number plate. saman will be sent to vehicle owner's home. From there, it all depends on who wants to take the rap for the offence.

for red light maybe still can.

why is TS asking? just curious or cos points near maximum?

anyway, this thread would be used as evidence to increase the penalty if u get caught and your intentions are clearly trying to pass the buck. so pls do the right thing.

if can siam safely i sure recommend one. but this is SG. few things can be siam-ded.

Erm, I've only seen the TP standing smack in the middle of the OHB facing oncoming traffic with tripod cam. Other than that I've not seen any mobile speed cam facing the same direction, only WRX and bikes.

I think they are shifting their camera positions nowadays. Last time I see them smack in the middle of the overhead bridge, seems to be taking pictures of oncoming traffic, nowadays they are in the middle above the divider...macam hiding. Not sure aiming where, but I think still taking oncoming traffic?
