D3badge 6th Gear November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 I've always like HSV. Drive the normal 4L holden before, very nice. But i think will have parking problem in MSCP ha ha agree parking a problem. that why australia parking lot all slightly bigger, to cater for Holden ↡ Advertisement

Pisces69 6th Gear November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 I doubt ty wil last very long. Wh such big engines n ty drink petrol like water, ty r not practical in SG due to ex to buy n maintain. Plus Holden not well known n trusted. Ty under GM n share many parts wh Opel n Chevy n also Vauxhall in UK.
Fcw75 Hypersonic November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 a person who can afford a V6, V8 or V12 monster, road tax is nothing man. Only those B&B car owner will bother about the road tax. As I posted in another Holden thread, if a rich guy wants a 6L car and dun mind the road tax, he will not want to buy a Holden. He will go for the propellor or Star as 1 bro pointed out. Benarsenal Turbocharged November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 (edited) They're a niche brand, for people who want to be different. HSV is not really aimed at rich towkays or whatnot anyway. Edited November 28, 2010 by Benarsenal

TandemAssassin 1st Gear November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 If I had the money. It is definitely the Holden for me. The Maloo Ute is particularly attractive but I would prob get the VRX. Above Porker, above Beemer, above Merc, above GTR. It shows a totally different lifestyle choice. It is brute car. Uber manly, 101% testosterone & muscle. If it were a human, it would have no class, no brain, 100% brawn. Woo hoo! Unfortunately, pricing is really steep. I recall that Holden vehicles are supposed to be low cost muscle cars. Well, maybe in another 10 years. :) And they are right about the niche appeal. It only appeals to crazy folk like me who wanna act low class and dumb jock/cowboy! Fcw75 Hypersonic November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 (edited) A person who wants to be different and have a really unique car, must still have a lot of $$$. You can do a survey among the rich people and see how many will want a Holden. A lot of products here are overpriced. The best example is Chrysler 300C 6.1 SRT V8. It is also a niche car. How many do you see on the road? How many did they sell in the first place? Now it is selling for $220000, from sgcarmart. But strange that the article mentions the first batch it all sold out! If I were rich, the Holden would be my choice because it really speaks to me! It speaks of the lifestyle I want i.e. I wanna be a red-neck cowboy. Speak with a lazy drawl and shoot at random targets. Ok end of fantasy. SRT 8 doesn't quite speak to me though. Cos it doesn't have the aggro/brutish look that Holdens have.

The appeal of muscle cars... However, my definitive muscle car will still be this: 1969 Chevy Kingswood Estate

For normal folks like me or you(?), how to afford the steep car price and the $7390 road tax a year? Wow, nice fantasy you have there!

Otherwise, don't have Pagani Zonda liao. The fact that not many will go for it only adds to the exclusivity factor. Some people just have to have something others don't.
