Use Sygic for Android. quite good my buddy say (since it's by TomTom). almost worldwide maps(provided you downloaded it)

I'm using the Waze apps also, really interesting, responsive and the best thing is it provides the real time traffic info. And IT IS FREE! Must try!

If you have spare android phone, consider using android GPS navi apps. Quite okay to me.

i am a fan of Tomtom maps. Somehow i got used to their graphic user interface.

Not another damn android phone! I had enough of hanging, restarting as it is already.

There doesn't seem to be one that can actually match up to my usage, let alone

use as a GPS, imagine, driving half way, it decides to restart!

What if there is incoming call, will the phone cut off the GPS?

Use Nokia Ovi Map. No cut off when incoming call. Not bad leh.

GPS app pushed to background and Dialer gains focus you can configure Sygic to keep GPS enabled even when focus on Sygic is lost.

don't know about 'droid but Navfone on iphone gets pushed to the background if there is an incoming call. I can still hear directions coming from the phone while I have a phone conversation using the car bluetooth.

Once call is done, the app comes back to foreground automatically. Not bad for a 2$ app I think. Found it reasonably quick and accurate as well.

Thanks bro. I'm going back to th Iphone, not that the droid is bad, but it can't seem to handle my workload.

Used a tablet, then the S and also tried out the S2, kept hanging and restarting.

1st Gear

Iphone apps cost like $20+ for SG/Thailand/MY maps.

UK maps $30+

Garmin every bloody map must PAY! <_<

No more free updates. I'm using Garmin, not very accurate either. Use map and compass better. [laugh]

Actually brand wise, I think when talking about GPS, Garmin will be first to mention.

I myself use Marbella for quite some time already, so far so good.

MalSing map and one of your choice free. Free update .

But sometimes the searching for satelite is a little slow, so need to "restart" in order for it to work again.

Apparently yes. Its support is very efficent too.

I think the nick tells.

Maka works for Maka? [:)]

But to be frank, Maka works well for me too. [thumbsup]

Especially the Thailand part, fantastic except for the off-road.

bro. Just tried it once again. The voice prompts from Navfone didn't work when i had it connected with a wired headset and when a call was received. Ofcourse, it returned back to the app and the correct route with voice prompts once the call was finished. Just that there was no voice prompts in the background during a call.

But it worked when phone was connected with my car bluetooth. Weird.

Tried the Iphone this morning, very exact to turning and location indication.

No calls this morning though, but I'm wondering if there is a way to upgrade my

garmin to the present Sg map without having to pay cut throat prices. <_<

Yea, the Navfone is pretty decent for 2 bucks. With the garmin, I thought you can use open source maps? Don't know anything about it though...
