Mclaren MP4-12C: 0-100 mph in 6.1 sec !!!

McLaren has revealed that its MP4-12C is capable of accelerating from 0-100 mph in only 6.1 seconds. That will put it to the top of its class, and even faster than the mighty F1, which took 6.3 sec to do so. The car is powered by a 600 hp 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 developed by Ricardo. Its power, lightweight and clever electronics all help it to achieve strong acceleration.

But how many dare to use such powers on Singapore streets?

 

By the fact that you got money to afford expensive cars, it's already a statement in itself.

No need to outrace other Farrari or GTR to prove anything.

I think even if One were to drive a lambo, one will get respect among the sport cars owner.

 

Anyone in the higher echelon of the richie rich society?

Will a person driving this new maclaren look down on Someone driving a slower lambo?

Will a Farrari 599 owner look down on another Lexus LFA owner because Lexus is slower car?

 

I know for common people like me driving jazz, I will smile out of courtesy when a QQ line up beside me, as I know mine is a faster car.

Does the same Smirkness exist between a Maclaren vs a Lexus LFA owners on the road? Anyone owns such cars, care to tell us how you feel?

Going fast from naught is just one aspect of these supercars. Braking and cornering are other aspects to consider, not to mention the wow factor. For example, GTR vs Mercedes SLS - I'll take the Merc anytime even if it's 0.6 sec on the sprint to 100 mph

u know, unlike you who only drives to make a statement and prove something, some pple ACTUALLY take such cars to the track and enjoy the driving experience it brings. and not buy it only because it is prestigious and expensive.

Actually the numbers don't stack up for the LFA. 0-60mph in 3.6s, but 0-100mph in 7.6s, and 1/4 mile at 201km/h at 11.7s. Given the quarter mile timings, the 0-100mph should be ard 7.1s.
