Yes, it is coming next month!

excited for it but at the same time i feel it will bring up the coe of cat a. so many powerful 1.6L engine nowadays..

C5, 508, avante and not to mention the already popular cerato forte and maybe fluence??

I believe Avante is going to be quite popular... But i am not so sure about the C5 and 508 as it seems that Singaporean don't really like French car... Wonder how many people has placed their booking on the 508...

But I really have to say both 508 and C5 is so competitively priced compared to the Passat facelift...

Haha yep. Hmm plus both the 508 and C5 are much cheaper as they are in cat A too.. so save on road tax as well

with more ppl buying cat A cars.. the coe sure increase like siao

It depends. Like one person has pointed out, French cars here still suffer from brand stigma. And it's the taxis that drive up COE prices.

S$88,999 - Push-start button, keyless entry like the one on Latio, enhanced leather seat, ESP, curtain airbags, 16"

S$89,999 - The same as the above + sunroof

 

But, I rather wait for the actual units to come in and see first... :) Anyway, this will definitely be my next car!!!

Keyless entry--> Just touch the button on the door to unlock the car, with the key in your pocket.

 

Keyless Ignition--> Most cars these days are push button type. For RHD cars, it's usually located to the bottom left of the driver below the speedo, or on the centre console.

my question is cause some cars like the lancer, was modified from a normal key to keyless so, you still turn the ignition not like new mercs or bmw, where you push a button like the forte. Also , the volvo s40 has the same thing, change from normal key to keyless, go see the car and you will understand.

Yes. I get what you mean. Keyless entry but without the keyless ignition. But these are pretty rare nowadays.

Increase of $3k from $79,999, was hoping it drop to $75k pre launch before commit, think will have to wait on sideline. 1st time heard car price increase prior to launch compare to other makes of pre-launch even before see the actual car display

i don't think the lcd screen will be coming to sg.. might have to be locally installed.

but honestly i feel not many people willing to pay 80k for a korean car.,,

 

back to the low COE days, most people who bought korean car are budget buyer, and it cost like 50k-55k for a avante, and most who willing to fork up to 70k 80k are still buying the jap car.

 

imagine someone who drive a 1.8 civic bought @ 70k-80k, how many of them willing to sell their car and pay 80+k for this new avante? Think most will rather keep their car then upgrade.

 

then its left to the budget buyer who got their car @ 49k, who again willing to give up their 49k present car to buy this @ 80k?

 

I believe this will be a hot seller if COE down to 10-20k but surely not at this moment..

The Honda Civic 1.6 L is currently above 100k liao and the 1.8 L is above 120k. If someone wants to buy a mid size saloon, the advante would be one of the cheapest mid size saloon that $$$$ can buy now. If someone needs to scrap their car now and looking to buy a mid size saloon, the Avante would be one of the choices.

You already said "back to old days"... Now is no more old days and now is new days

And in the old day Korean car are still known for their value for money... In the new days Korean car are going to be very attractive looking + technologically advanced and even more attractive than the Japanese... Last time Civic can be sold at a premium because it was one of the best looking car at that time but now it is ageing and the new model is not going to create so much impact as the current one... So it is still too early to say whether many people or not willing to pay 80k for the Avante... The same case goes to i45 and K5, nobody thought got people will spend 120k on a Korean car, but in fact there are already quite a few people driving them on the road
