Hmm, thread starter driving 4 cylinder right? Change to ITB with 4 leaf blower, 1 each per throttle.

 

Then add broquet fuel catalyst, surbo, cheetah 911, voltage regulator, snake oil injection. Sure feel a lot faster one.

Put skinny tyre, off aircon, remove boot sure acc faster. But also die faster if cannot brake.

Best way to get power without going bare block is I/H/E, ITB, cams and ECU tune. Idle will sound like wowowowo.

Exhaust will sound like waaaaa praprapraprap.

Just flipped a hypetune mag.....there was a souped up Gen2. Usual staff....HL cams....etc...etc....186hp. What caught my attention was the tyres. I tot it was typo but whwn i looked at the picture in the mag, it was no typo.

Front Tyres : 195/50-15

Rear Tyres : 165/50-15

Any bro knows how does this help?

I have seen FWD doing the opposite of the above for aesthetics.....but.....

I think the purpose is just to increase grip, like high power RWD, they will use staggered , front 245 rear 275. If FWD , it will be reverse way.

 

Saw on some drag racing Civic also put it this way.

But if that was the case, assuming stock size is 195 width....

 

Shouldnt it be like 205/55-16 or 215/45-17 front while rear is maintained the same since its FWD?

 

In this case, front is the same but low profile but rear is drastically reduced.....

 

Unless the intention is less weight + added grip for drag race, while for cornering, controlled loss of rear grip was intended......to give the drift effect for a FWD in an unorthodox way..

Hard to tell without knowing his exact suspension setup and other hardware bolted onto his Gen 2.

 

I think the RS3 also has wider front's compared to rears, and that is straight from the factory.

 

Unless I am driving some Hypercar like Zonda, I much prefer to have all 4 tyres identical actually. For ease of maintenance and swaps.

 

Might also be some typo in the mag, where to find 165 in 50 profile? Still have meh (or was it even ever made in this size)?
