  1. I'm thinking of adding unichip to my car since IHE are all done and there are little else that could be done to enhance further legally. Just wondering if it is worthwhile to get a used unichip and then go for installation and tuning? How much does the tuning cost and any good installers/tuners? Thanks
  2. Hi bro, I am new to car performance. Just curious to know what modification is required that can increase acceleration but stay LTA friendly as well. I have heard many car with very loud engine noise (voom voom), does those meant for more power for the car? Legal? Thanks in advance.
  3. eh guys this looks like its gonna get interesting http://www.shc-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=179445 did anyone have similar experiences? (with him or any tuner)
  4. Hi bros as above. any to recommend?
  5. Dear Guru, need some help, installed unichip Ver Q at chuan lee hin last week. My car now stalled occassionally when stop at traffic light. Idling seems abit low 500-600. Yesterday at a speed of 80km, accelerate, rpm up but the speed cannot go up and the car jerking. faster let go accelerator and back to normal again. Is the turner tune my car till too "rich" (Too much fuel?) thanks
  6. Thusday went to install unchip Q at chuan lee hin, Follow the turner out wiht my car, damn hard pain to see the way the tuner whack and drive my 1 month old my car mileage 1245km only. Must he red line the car to get the optimum tuning? Initial thought just plug into lap top and do the setting can liao. if i know he redline my car till like that, i will not have installed the unichip Almost new car leh, CVT gear box somemore. Heart pain pain, don't know will my gear box spoil or not?
  7. Old ride unchip brought and install by Auto Design $980 Sold my ride ADM charged $50 to take out unichip Now want to install in my new ride ( TOYTA SIENTA)charged me Unichip Q Piggyback ECU - $280 (Instaln & tunning) Find their price is exorbitant, any bro there can recommed any other shop that can install and tune at a reasonable price? Many thanks
  8. Hi, Does anyone have issue with check engine light after installing unichipQ version? The workshop had tried to adjust the ignition timing mapping to a lower value (for low revs) but the engine light still persists. What should the installer do to rectify the issue? Does it warrant for a second dyno to retune the ecu again? I am second guessing that the installer does not wish to go through that, but rather tried to play with the timing to get rid of the check engine light issue. They have also tried to reset the factory ecu, but the check engine light still persisted. My concern is I will not be able to know how much gain now after he started a second adjustment to the parameters. I mean in agreement, if such a situation occur, it would be fair to me to request for a second dyno. Do I have the right to request for a second dyno and retune? What I have paid for should be fuss free respectable gain from using unichip Q without compromising the engine relability. I have also requested for on road tuning but the installer reaffirmed that dyno tune has a higher load rating than doing an on road tuning. On road tuning is not as critical. I love the results from the first dyno, but sighs... Any advices? Cheers, Tommy
  9. any bros can advise any wkshop tat specialiizes in install & tuning of Unichip.thks
  10. Anyone here ever tried the new 32-bit UniChip on NA car?
  11. Apart from going over to Visworks in JB. Any place in singapore that does a good Dyno-tune for UnichipQ? Trying to avoid going over since my window-tint doesn't pass.
  12. Is it possible to use sprint booster on rides installed with unichip?
  13. Installed the chip locally by a 'famous' local tuner who claimed to 'Maximise' your ride performance. Subsequently went back to him to re-tuned for various time and still not satisfied. Piss...so took a day off and went to viswork to do re-mapping and dyno. Here's the result: Power (BHP) ===== RPM Run 1 Run 2 3000 46.0 50.6 4000 66.5 71.8 5000 79.2 84.2 5500 85.0 89.3 6000 85.6 91.6 6500 87.1 93.1 Torque (NM) ===== RPM Run 1 Run 2 3000 109.2 120.1 4000 118.4 127.9 5000 112.8 120.0 5500 110.1 115.7 6000 101.6 108.7 6500 95.4 102.0 N.B. - Run 1 (tuned in Spore), Run 2 (tuned by Viswork) The result speak for itself. Over the whole range, Viswork still managed to squeeze out add 4-6 horses from the initial tuning by the local man. I am not doing advertising for Viswork, but just to remind all out there that Viswork charge a premium price for a reason. So dun end up like me paying more $$ to set things right. Now the drive feel is so much better and smoother.
  14. Thinking of getting the Unichip. Spoke to G Motor in S'pore, he quoted me $800 and found from Visworks' website only RM$1299 (approx.S$575). http://www.visauto.net/products.htm Any MCF bros can advise why the difference is so significant and which tuner is better? Thanks.
  15. hi bros out there..anyone can recommend me cheap unichip+mapping for my n16 sunny manual...
  16. Hi guys, thinking of installing unichip piggyback to my ride. Been reading around and seems like there are mixture of positive and negative comments on both place. Please poll your option if you had install the unichip at the above places.. comments are most welcome. Thanks
  17. Hi guys, Hope someone is familar with Unichip in MCF. Most older version Unichips I've seen are the blue exterior with gold "DASTEK UNICHIP" wordings. And the latest one shown in Carma is like silver color with silver wordings. Like to ask if anyone knows which version/generation is a black color exterior with green wordings? Many thanx!

    Unichip

hi do anyone knows where to install/tune 3rd gen unichip is cheap/price ????
  19. Always see post abt unichip..Wat is it actually??Wat effect does it have to the ride??
  20. Came across this Article recently, but Brods. have anyone tried it? HOW DOES THE UNICHIP WORK? THE UNICHIP is an extra computer that gets wired into the vehicle's wiring harness. It intercepts various signals and changes them to suit the particular vehicle. The main point to understand with THE UNICHIP is that in most cases it only modifies signals. It has maps like we have described in the previous part of this section. The big difference is that where it has zeros in its maps the car will be standard. We tune THE UNICHIP with a tuning box that is every installer will have. The one side of this box is plugged into the laptop computer and the other side into THE UNICHIP. This is an aluminum box with two tuning knobs (pots) and an insert button. Once they are activated through the tuning program the red pot changes the timing and the blue pot the fuel. If we turn the red pot to the left it will make the timing slower. If we turn it to the right it will make it faster. Turning the blue pot to the left makes the vehicle leaner and turning it to the right makes it richer. The insert button sends the new values to THE UNICHIP where it is now stored. Let's say that the car's ECU makes the timing 34 degrees BTDC at load-site 50, speed-site 100. (This will be about half-throttle at 4000 RPM). If we go to the same point on THE UNICHIP we can then make the timing slower or faster. Let us say that the car wants the timing at 32 degrees for best performance at this point. You will turn the timing pot to the left and see that the power is increasing. Once you found the best point in the above example it will show up as minus two degrees on THE UNICHIP, not as 32 degrees. You will also look at the mixtures and set it to the desired value. Also understand that this will make the existing map in the car's ECU richer or leaner and is not the actual value in the car's map. Once you are happy with the settings you will press the insert button. This will send the data to THE UNICHIP and immediately make it active. The next time the driver drives at this load and RPM point THE UNICHIP will automatically make the timing two degrees slower and set the mixtures to whatever it was set to by you at the time. The basic idea is that we can drive the car at any load and RPM point and change the timing and fuel settings at this particular point. We can then set the car for economy or for power. The logical way is to set the car for economy at part loads and for maximum power under full-load. More details when you get signed up as a dealer. Here is an example of what the mixture should typically be set to under the different load and RPM points. Please note; these values are not correct for any turbocharged or supercharged vehicle. Part load settings are not applicable to vehicles with lambda sensors Good Fuel Map (in % CO) Revs per minute Speed site number Load site number Full throttle map 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 500 RPM 0 1.20 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 3.00 800 RPM 10 1.20 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 3.00 1000 RPM 20 1.20 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 3.00 1200 RPM 30 1.20 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 2.00 3.00 1600 RPM 40 0.40 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 3.00 2000 RPM 50 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.40 0.50 3.20 2400 RPM 60 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.40 0.50 3.20 2800 RPM 70 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.40 0.50 3.20 3200 RPM 80 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.40 0.50 3.30 3600 RPM 90 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.40 0.50 3.40 4000 RPM 100 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.20 0.40 0.50 3.50 4400 RPM 110 0.30 0.30 0.30 0.30 0.30 0.30 0.30 0.30 0.50 0.60 3.60 4800 RPM 120 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.20 1.30 1.50 3.50 5200 RPM 130 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.20 1.30 1.50 3.80 5600 RPM 140 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.20 1.30 1.50 4.00 6000 RPM 150 1.50 1.50 4.50 1.50 1.50 1.50 1.50 1.70 1.80 2.00 4.50 6400 RPM 160 1.80 1.80 1.80 1.80 1.80 1.80 1.80 2.00 2.10 2.40 4.50 Typical Timing map with idling and full throttle maps in degrees BTDC Revs per minute Speed site number Idling map Load site number Full throttle map 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 500 RPM 0 14 8 8 8 8 7 7 7 7 7 6 800 RPM 10 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 6 1000 RPM 20 2 11 11 11 10 10 10 9 9 9 7 1200 RPM 30 -6 14 14 14 14 13 13 13 13 12 10 1600 RPM 40 -11 20 20 19 19 19 19 18 18 18 14 2000 RPM 50 -16 24 23 23 23 22 22 22 22 21 17 2400 RPM 60 -21 28 28 28 28 28 28 28 24 22 21 2800 RPM 70 31 31 31 31 30 30 30 24 24 24 22 3200 RPM 80 33 33 33 31 31 31 31 24 24 24 22 3600 RPM 90 38 38 38 38 38 38 33 33 33 28 26 4000 RPM 100 44 44 44 44 44 39 38 33 33 30 29 4400 RPM 110 44 44 44 44 44 40 39 37 34 30 29 4800 RPM 120 44 44 44 44 44 38 34 32 30 29 27 5200 RPM 130 48 48 48 48 48 45 44 35 32 30 29 5600 RPM 140 48 48 48 48 48 46 45 35 33 30 30 6000 RPM 150 48 48 48 48 48 48 46 35 34 33 31 6400 RPM 160 48 48 48 48 48 48 48 39 38 35 32 Technically speaking this is the best there is because this is real time tuning - the adjustment you make you see immediately and it is as accurate as it can get. You don't have to stop the vehicle, alter timing or fuel by burning the chip and take the car up to speed and take a reading again. Changing the timing or fuel only takes seconds.
  21. Hi all, need some advice. I intend to install unichip in my Kelisa manual, which already has K&N drop in, hotbit extractor and muffler. What else do you all think I should put in before installing unichip? Thanks in advance!
